Pros
The pay and the benefits are great. I think the company generally acts with integrity. I think they have an honorable code of conduct.
Cons
The training could be better. The workload in my position is heavy and results in providing slow service to many of our customers.
Advice to Senior Management
I would like to see the company negotiate with the union to provide guaranteed job positions in exchange for salary reductions or perfomance based salary.
Pros
Union
Pay
Option for overtime
Field work
Cons
Poor Management
Pay for the work performed
Hours forced to work
Advice to Senior Management
they are treated just as bad
Pros
Benefits and Pay are good
Cons
Very stressful for managers. The company expects too many different things from one person. We have almost zero clerks or support staff.
Advice to Senior Management
Give us some support staff, so as a field manager I'm not stuck in the office doing mundane clerical work. You should treat you manager at least as well as your Union employees, now wonder the top talent is not lining up to get promoted.
Pros
I feel ATT is by far the best and most stable telecommunications to work for these days. This gives some people piece of mind but piece of mind doesn't cut it most days.
Cons
Working for ATT is like working for 10 different companies, since SBC purchased ATT, not much has been done to make the many different companies streamlined. ATT tries to make it appear that we're one big company but that is the furthest from the truth. I regularly hear from Legacy-T support folks that it is a LEC problem when we're the LEC. Nothing makes a customers blood boil more than hearing that. Upper level management need to take a long hard look at where this company is going. Its been said that ATT is defining the market and that customer will pay more for the customer service and the Network. We may have the Network but if the customer support isn't there what’s the point?
Advice to Senior Management
Get away from the Legacy-T mentality that you will do it ATT's way or not at all and on ATT's time frame.
Pros
The name does carry some credibility with consumers
Cons
Sr. Management lack of focus on mid level management. Throw the union a few crumbs and take them from mid level management
Advice to Senior Management
Remember the importance of your managers
