I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Company provides great benefits, excellent college hire programs and training, company focuses on employee development, many opportunities for movement, brand recognition, fair commission structure

    Cons

Large company can sometimes also be its undoing. Many parts of the company are still segmented and without support, it can be hard to deliver on promises to our customers. Quotas are sometimes unattainable when you consider the job responsibilities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

the best managers are those who understand and have performed the role of an account manager

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

At&t is always looking to promote from within. They give everyone a chance at being developed into a leader or a better sales person, which ever area you want to grow in. The money is ridiculous, you can make so much money with this company and its so easy.

    Cons

Customers. They have a tendency to blow things out of proportion. this job is a 9 hour day 5 days week and can be stressful. its easy to hit your numbers if you have basic sales experience, but it can be draining.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

always be on the same page with all management in the store.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great Pay, Benefits: Dental, Vision & Medical, Matching 401K, Tuition Reimbursement. Many employees last there because of the competitive pay and benefits--not so much because they like or love their job.

    Cons

Repetitive work in call centers, great divide with upper management and lower management, poor hours (even break and lunch times) for long periods of time (based on seniority), service reps are rated by: call handle time, adherence to schedule, sales, customer service, customer ratings by call back system, calls transfers, call hold times, etc. Hard to move up in company. If you move up to a Team Manager you go from hourly to salary and are in the office or meetings much more than you were as a service rep and you make less money--doesn't make sense but is true.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ha! As if they care or will do anything about it if they read my advice.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

learning how to communicate with different types of people being able to help can accommodate customers to their needslearning how to solve problems and it's same time to communicate and enjoy the benefits and and experience that this job has to offer.

    Cons

every position is a very challenging position put your mind to it and as long as your determined and focused you can always overcome anything that you see in the future as something negative be positive I think something very challenging will be the fact that overtime may not necessarily be offered as I would like to be I like being challenged and in telecommunications the experience itself is challenging.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I've been in a position before where as a collection Rep I was not very popular with the customers however I learned that no matter how bad the news is sometimes you as a representative have control of the call is how you communicate with the customer that will give you the best result

    Pros

Great exposure to latest technology and how society will change because of it. Learn alot about business and why certain decisions are made for future growth. The company has been around for over 100 years. They developed the telephone and the wireless tower technology. Its all about communication within society. Its right in the thick of it. Its a huge company with people that have worked here for a while. Lots of experience to be attained here. Plus they are in the top fortune 15 companies. :)

    Cons

The company has been around for over 100 years. They developed the telephone and the wireless tower technology. Its a huge company with people that have worked here for a while. This has it pluses but the people that have been around longer typically are road blocks when you want to advance in your career. The company is trying to change it by educating their ten year managers to adapt to the new age. Most have improved but you still run into one now and then. Frustrating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Adapt your management style with the employees of the new age. This will help in your own advancement and improve the trust within your team which will be recognized in various fashions.
