Pros
Although i had always had a different cell ph company, i made a 180% change to att, because i understood, i belived in att as a company overall.
Cons
Emotional abuse to employees when managment is trying to move up. If managers have a favorite, reps can get away with anything, but if you are new dont perform asap, you go to the bottom & if they dont like you, they will write u up for wanting to take a break (even though ur up for 1) if there is customers on the floor.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn how to treat the ppl that get you your paycheck, cause at least we know we can sue u, but as managment u get treated worst than a prostitute & they will still get rid of u with out a 2nd thought.
Pros
Freedom to do your job the way you see best.
Work from home.
Cons
AT&T will hire from outside the organization rather then promote from within our group.
You are expected to work 24/7
Benefits keep bing cut
Work is outsourced to overseas groups that don't understand to do the job
Advice to Senior Management
Your employees make or break the company. How you treat your employees determines if your company will succeed or fail.
Pros
Flexible hours and good benefit
Cons
Management was lost and had no concrete plan to overcome challenges
Advice to Senior Management
Lead
Pros
The pay can be good if you negotiate correctly. If you have a good supervisor or area manager you may be shielded from much of the silliness that takes place. Many of my former coworkers remain some of my best friends till this day.
Cons
The corporate culture is not one of fairness. They preach diversity but practice something else. The middle management is lousy with incompetent people afraid that someone will expose their lack of ability.
Advice to Senior Management
It has the potential to be a wonderful place to work. Distribute work more evenly so that everyone stays busy and can be evaluated fairly. The beatings and fear mongering will not improve morale.
Pros
Fairness and Support from management. excellent co-workers. Great opportunities.
Cons
Interdepartment databases are lacking in information exchange.
Advice to Senior Management
none
Pros
Many great people. Benefits aren't bad.
Cons
Management extremely unrealistic in regard to expectations of work loads for many workers.
Much of corporate management seemed unwilling to address major issues with higher ups.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay closer attention to employees needs, including their health and well being, which might be affected by an unfair or overburdened work environment.
Pros
Highest pay scale in the industry
Cons
Shifting focus from wireless products to wire-line products caused a lot of internal turnover, leading to new employees being inexperienced to properly help customers effectively.
Pros
benefits and pay are good
Cons
they are outsourcing everything, cutting corners and ruining every aspect of the company in the name of saving a couple dollars. It has become too large of a company for it's own good or the good of it's employees, whom it regards with indifference approaching distain. Service is terrible, products are second rate. It is to the telecom what General Motors was to the automobile 10 years ago.
Pros
A lot of great employees
Diversity
Cons
Management stuck on "levels"
Unable to make decisions
Management Bully's
Zero long term strategy-short term results drive company
Advice to Senior Management
Stop the management from top down chaos. Allow risks, entrepenuership. Stop promoting bullies because they give you short term results.
Pros
They provided great health benefits; This is one of the last bastions of good customer service jobs in US prior to all of the customer service jobs being routed to India
Cons
The shifts were not consistent. They rotated shifts every 3 month; the least tenured employees got the worst shifts ( i.e. Sunday at 6am start)
Advice to Senior Management
There needs to be much more diversity in management and the constant shift changes increases turnover in the workplace obviously.
