    Pros

I have learned a lot about running wires, terminating cat5 and coax, phone systems and a lot more

    Cons

you're constantly afraid of meeting numbers and doing a good enough job. its nice to have the union to back you up, but it doesnt feel like your managers are on your team. no matter how GOOD a job you do, you can and will be replaced.

    I worked at AT&T

    Pros

There was money to be made if you did your job properly, great benefits, paid time off, 401K match.

    Cons

Terrible management, the atmosphere at the retail level is beyond toxic the mid level manager basically suck the life out of you. My advice is to stay far away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Great Pay, really good training and wonderful co-workers. Training is A-1 and you will receive all of the tools to successful at your job. Very encouraging management that supports and celebrates your successes.

    Cons

The sales objectives changed 3 times in less than a year which effects your bonuses as a sales consultant. Continually pressured to sale or upgraded products to customers that were calling about other concerns.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider changing the pricing strategy. Customers would appreciate a straight forward pricing plan across the board.

    Pros

Pay was $17/hr + commission. Free insurance. But they owe your that since you're selling your soul.

    Cons

Being honest and selling at the same time was very difficult. Downtown parking $4 each day!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hurry and get out while you still have your soul.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has excellent pay and benefits mainly due to being negotiated by the union. The call center job seems to be entry level with many people staying in this position for a very long time.

    Cons

Very hard to advance as most decisions to promote are based solely on seniority. Schedules for those lower on the seniority ladder can be challenging. There are no sick days, any call out requires FMLA to not be counted as an occurrence against your record.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help those that want to advance or move on to a different position in the company do so.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay and benefits. Union. Some discounts on services. Solid employment.

    Cons

Poor/no work life balance. Poor management. Crap rolls down hill - guess who is at the bottom of said hill. Most promoting/moving is based on the good ole boy network. Rarely have 2 days off in a row.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work with your people as individuals because they are human. Numbers aren't everything.
