    Pros

There are literally no pros in my opinion.

    Cons

There is constant pressure and scrutiny ALL OF THE TIME in such a high pressure sales environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help encourage your employees to sell rather than make them feel incompetent when the economy sucks and no one wants to buy a new phone!!

    I worked at AT&T full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good Pay, great benefits, tuition reimbursement, overall good working environment, talented top-notch employees.

    Cons

Must be able to handle constant change. Getting too bogged down in extensive software documents required in development life cycle to the detriment of producing actual software products. Very complex IT system to understand. Lots of outsourcing and offshoring going on in IT.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Streamline the amount of documents needed in software development life cycle, so that time can spent in actual software development. Recognize knowledge of employees who know your systems and how they interact, and reward those employees instead of outsourcing them to companies who will offshore their jobs.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Many great products and concepts, but very little execution on excellence from the top down.

    Cons

Poor leadership! When it comes to promotions, they make the same mistakes over and over again. They base their decisions completely off performance in regards to quotas, which is understandable considering it is a sales organization, but they consistently promote "shady" sales people to management roles and never learn from their mistakes. I have encountered some of most ignorant managers while employed with AT&T.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Inspect the integrity of your high performers, they are tainting your name and your products.

I worked at AT&T full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

-Good work-life balance in the beginning, which suddenly tanks after a period of time.
    -Some people are very friendly.

    Cons

-A lot of people and managers that just repeat whatever their boss tells them to. A lot of "me too" thinking. This kind of culture is enforced from the top down. If you disagree, you are punished.
-The company cannot keep up with the times. It is slow even for a large corporation. Management tries really hard to make things look like this is not the case, but old ways of doing things are often just hidden behind the names of new, exciting-sounding ideologies and processes.
-Developers are treated as second-class citizens.
-Inadequate training programs and techniques that are treated as if they are incredible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of people that can't adapt to new things - especially in management. Actually change the way you're doing things.
