Pros
Decent pay for a student.
Team atmosphere
Play with technology and gadgets all day long.
Meet new people and building relationships.
Cons
Hard to move up the corporate ladder.
Pay could be better if this job was a career.
Micro management all the time.
Advice to Senior Management
It would be nice for employees to get a chance to prove themselves and be considered for career advancement after so many years working there.
Pros
Good pay, benefits, commission and overtime pay. Great employee union, CWA.
Cons
At times stressful, need good people skills for occasionally angry and difficult customers. Some days all I do is customer service, depending on "luck of the draw". Sales quotas are unreasonably high. Sometimes there are 12-14 different target quotas to be met, (phone accessories, insurance, home DSL, roadside assist, etc.) Every month I worried about getting a write-up for missing quotas. Expect to be micromanaged on sales floor.
Pros
The pay is great
Great Benefits
Cons
Information slow to come from upper management
Advice to Senior Management
Speed up information
Pros
Competitive Pay
Great Benefits
Generous amount of paid time off
same schedule for about 6 months at a time, then next schedule bid based on seniority
Cons
Treated like in kindergarten by the way you are spoken to and directed to do things.
Not very flexible with time off
Have to know somebody to move up
You are just a number
Advice to Senior Management
Employees should be treated with more dignity and respect.
Some managers need a refresher on what being professional actually means
Pros
Great insurance, nice benefits, they pay for uniforms
Cons
No balance, not a good job for parents. Hard to move forward in positions or to transfer locations. Ran a lot like government, if one person messes up, everyone is punished. Micromanagement as an art, ha!
Advice to Senior Management
If you hire intelligent good people, trust them, you don't have to hover.
Pros
The company has great products, training on how to use/sell them. They offer very competitive pay with benefits.
Cons
Store manager lacks the ability to close sales, motivate employees, and discern when make exceptions for customers in order to keep sales from walking out the door. Then takes it out on the employees when they’re not meeting quota.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn when it’s best to make exceptions in order to keep customers/employees happy, because they are the root of the business. Don’t just say ‘No” because you have the power to do so.
To the upper management: Stop changing managers from store to store. You are doing nothing but moving the problem around. Get rid of the incompetent store managers, and have the really great managers training the new ones.
Pros
room for growth and career advancement
Cons
long hours that must be done.
Advice to Senior Management
treat managers better
Pros
compensation is great compared to others
Cons
hours can sometime interfere with home life
Advice to Senior Management
Create more positions that employees can interview for
Pros
A good place to grow as a sales rep. A good paying job if you try. Moving up is easy if your willing to move
Cons
The slow times at times. Benefits suck, but that happens with a big company, aside from the 401(k). It's unionized.
Advice to Senior Management
This is a great company to work for depending on where you live. The leadership that AT&T has is something that I admire.
Pros
The Salary plus commission and benefits.
Cons
Schedule and Management in my particular location.
Advice to Senior Management
AT&T is a great company but, some management crews are not very supportive, motivational or leader-like. When a manager lacks skills, it hurts the whole store, as well as the company!
