Pros
Nice pay considering what you do.
Great opportunity to work with upcoming wireless technology.
Huge company worldwide (Fortune 12)
Free unlimited cell phone services
Cons
Horrible work/life balance.
Hard to reach promotion levels from Store Management into Corp.
forever changing leadership makes it hard to gain attention needed for future promotions.
Extremely hard coaching environment regarding developing employees.
Unsure where the company's headed in the future.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote from within market first.
Pros
benefits package is great. employees are friendly and helpful. advancement opportunities.
Cons
Must be proficient in computer skills, be able to assimulate new information quickly, be able to find information quickly in data base. Must be able to handle constructive criticism and coaching to improve skills and performance. Must be able to be proactive and self empowered in making good business decisions, but do have support of managers. Working with customers and customer issues can be stressful when troubleshooting phones or billing.
Advice to Senior Management
raise up issues to call center director to inform even if have resolution so informed and in the loop.
review company and call center status with employees monthly so can work as a team to improve or rejoice.
Pros
benefits , pay, free phone, nice customers, certain freedoms, good phone selection and uverse services, good rate plans, good features , etc
Cons
advancements, policies, procedures , constant change, management is terrible, quotas are sometimes unachievable , they make no effort to help you get into a better position
Advice to Senior Management
Change your structure completely. Your a horrible company. Making policies that have absolutely no sense and creating massive amounts of stress for employess.
Pros
Great work environment. Helpful team and managers. Obtainable deadlines and quotas.
Cons
No real way of getting promoted from sales
Advice to Senior Management
More training on products
Pros
The salary for a retail position is pretty good and the commission structure wasnt bad, though with constant changes it could have been better. benefits were not bad either, but again with union changes it was always changing.
Cons
there is a lot of micro management, and store managers and district managers and assistant managers all have conflicting ideas and ways they do things. there was no consistency, and ZERO work life balance.
Advice to Senior Management
the retail sales consultants are the backbone of the industry, without new sales and new customers the business would not be in existance. so focus on making the sales consultants happy and showing them mutual respect.
Pros
Great place to start and move up.
Cons
It takes time to adjust to the hours for sales representatives.
Pros
AT& T offer employees stablility, great benefits, and great pay. The company is a Fortune 500 company so it's lots of opportunity to advance.
Cons
Management had it's picks and chooses. I don't feel everybody was given a fair chance to be in managment positions.
Advice to Senior Management
Leadership shouldn't allow personal friendships to interfere with work. Listen to employees and their concerns rather than always looking at numbers.
Pros
Benefits were excellent. Great teams to work with
Cons
Lack of chance to get promoted
Advice to Senior Management
promote your employees
Pros
Pay was excellent, benefits were excellent, could almost work unlimited hours if i had it in me (busy store ready and willing to pay overtime) management left me alone as i continued to produce
Cons
Very difficult to work long hours and weekends with children and a working wife. Tough to get time off (many six day weeks with vacation days serving as "day off place holders" i.e. take two vacation days in a week and you can plan on working the other five days in the week).
Advice to Senior Management
management at my store did an excellent job of understanding the way things really were (sacrificing work/life balance for extra pay) and helping us all to make the best of it. Continue to pay high commission and employees will continue to produce (although I have heard commission has been cut back in the short time i've been gone)
Pros
Great products and great services.
Cons
Very political, comission structure is all messed up.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote people based on performance not on who they know.
