Pros
The pay is good. Commision is good. coworkers are good to be around and you can make your own schedule
Cons
Pay only twice a month, comission is capped. No room to grow. Not a six figure job. Not a diverse company
Advice to Senior Management
Need more diversity in company. Need uncapped comission. Need more room to grow in the company and more bonuses to hard working employees
Pros
Friendly atmosphere most of the time
Great benefits
Cons
Poor recognition
Poor communication
Poor leadership skills from AMs and Director
Advice to Senior Management
Understand that customer service reps are not robots or expected to be perfect at all times. Scaring people that they will lose thier job is a poor tactic.
Pros
Industry is always exciting, CO. always pushing training and incentives, CO. always provides necessary tools, very clean and effective work environment, Training with groups from other markets always available,
Cons
Upper management beyond Area Managers (ARSM) create goals that allow a rep to succeed in the main area of sales (wireless) but then miss the kicker or bonus b/c of low sales on something nobody wants like landlines. Internet and wire-line services are sold and marketed by an entire division of the company, but the reps in the WIRELESS store are penalized when they don't sell enough wire-line, even if they sold 125% of wireless goal. tough being their manager knowing this practice and still push them to sell what the company is suffering with.
Advice to Senior Management
ATT is a breeding ground for "scammers". your goals are so tweaked by upper management, that it forces your best workers to find ways to meet the oddities you set forth. even though they blow away #s with act, features, accessories, etc; you push them down by increasing goals on products that have dedicated departments and teams to sell. if you just boost incentive on wire-line products, they will figure out how to sell it on their own instead of how to make it look like they did. if you surveyed your RSCs across the country, id bet they would be more satisfied with a fair compensation plan and simple recognition, than ridiculously expensive trips for the select few. increase your numbers by pinpointing the perfect comp plan.
Pros
Always learned the latest info on wireless technology, and the always there was training or refresher course to stay on top of wireless world.
Cons
Management never showed support, at times made things personal and if there was issues that arised, never around to advise on to handle a difficult issue.
Pros
Pay was good. Awesome co-workers.
Cons
HAted working here!! I was hired as a Rep helping customers issues w phone they changed me to collections after two months without having a say. only worked 4 hours ended up leaving so stressed everyday.
Pros
Industry leader in a growing solid stable industry.
Cons
Size and dynamism - easy for good folks to get "lost in the shuffle".
Pros
good pay, good work, good connections
Cons
lack of communication
red tape
favoritism
Advice to Senior Management
communicate better
Pros
Commpensation, benefits package, tuition reimbursement, ample training provided by the company both for current work and for professional growth. For the most part it is an ethical company. Opportunity to help people in a fast-pace constantly evolving workplace. Work is somewhat challenging and selling technology can be fun.
Cons
Management receives only a very modest increase in pay over employees until you get into director and VP level management, thus the people willing to be assistant store managers, retail store managers, and area retail sales managers are not always the people who are the most skilled or capable. The two biggest frustrations of working for AT&T as a retail sales consultant are incompetent direct managment and very poor work-life balance, especially until you are one of the top people in seniority at your location.
Pros
The benefits offered are not bad I think the premiums are higher than most companies if you like people it's a good job not for everyone.
Cons
There could be more room for advancement the hours are extremely long and the quotas are sometimes unreasonable almost like a carrot is being dangled infront of you.
Advice to Senior Management
Take the time to get to know your employees treat them with respect give positive feedback along with the bad.
Pros
compensation, fun work environment most of time
Cons
stressful at times, lots of turnover, don't sell wired you are Fired that's the joke...it's not just a cell phone job
Advice to Senior Management
more work life balance...the scheduling tool needs more work, need to help rep with stress levels in store
