One flew over the cuckoo's nest....

Accounting (Former Employee) Fountain Inn, SC

ProsBeing able to see the hot air balloons take off in the mornings of Aloft. Leaving the place.

ConsGoogle AVX and layoffs. Sitting on a wad of cash but employees have to bring their own office supplies or scavenge the desks of those laid off. Employees are an expense not an investment.

Advice to Senior ManagementSurprised the Japanese (Kyocera) have been fooled all of these years.

I have had many opportunities to excel and been successful in solving and managing issues that have hampered others.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsChallenging task, stable workforce, interesting coworkers and excellent locale. Lots of opportunities to apply expertise and learn at your own pace.

ConsVery little opportunity for advancement, stagnant pay scales. No cost of living adjustments have been made to the pay scale in 20 years. Year long pay freezes are never made up in subsequent years. No rewards for individual performance.

Advice to Senior ManagementEmployees need mentors and should be informed of the standard promotion pace. Cost of living adjustments need to be part of the pay scale review. When the company is doing well, do more to make give the current employees a share in the wealth. Reward outstanding individual performance even in lean years.
