Pros
Relaxed corporate culture
Friendly and fun coworkers
Management facilitates individual creativity
Ongoing challenges keep the job exciting
Opportunity to let your voice be heard
Opportunity for training and skill advancement
Cons
Recent organizational changes have caused some confusion
Two seperate office locations - creates inter office mailing difficulties
No internal food accomodations
Advice to Senior Management
I think management overall does a great job of leading our group and encouraging creativity and productivity, but it would be nice to see the managers leading by example when it comes to using administrative systems on a daily basis.
Pros
Dynamic organization with opportunity to grow
Cons
Unorganized and lack of direction (from upper management)
Advice to Senior Management
Be fair and clearly communicate company directions with the team. Be more organized and professional.
Pros
- Opportunity to advance
- Open door communication from president
- Excelent HR team
- Fair compensation and benefits
- Open to changes
Cons
- New members of senior management lack of knowledge in the field
- Can drag on in making decisions due to waiting for consensus from a big group
Advice to Senior Management
Watch out for newcomers trying to change what makes AVerMedia a great place to work. Please maintain the open door, open communication and sharing that made AVerMedia such a great place to work in the past few years.
Pros
Remote positions are available
Good, company-paid benefits
Well-respected within the educational technology industry
Possibility of travel depending on your position
Cons
Management shakeup has led to massive layoffs (around 10 percent of the company)
No job security (see above)
Little room for advancement in your position
Low pay relative to competition
Managers are so focused on numbers that they often forget about how to manage/treat people, except as "assets"
Communication is extremely poor, from the top down
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to reassess the health of the company in terms of its people, not just the bottom line. They tend to view everything on a spreadsheet, and not everything can be viewed that way. Morale will continue to sink, and so will the company.
