I worked at AXA Advisors as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Get to know the industry. The financial consultants are friendly. Researches on venture capitals and stocks later on were more interesting and useful.

    Cons

All those phone calls and name guessing were very tedious.

I worked at AXA Advisors (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Young, energetic work environment. If you develop relationships with the top producers, you can position yourself to learn a lot of the best practices and set yourself up for success.

    Cons

If you are not highly motivated, it can be an overwhelming, dead-end job. It is a commission based job so if you cannot sell, you will struggle financially.

    Advice to Management

Continue with the excellent training and have the district managers focus more on quality representatives rather than on quantity of representatives.

I have been working at AXA Advisors as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

A LOT of learning in terms of sales and handling people and their concerns, but only if you're lucky enough to be hired as an intern for the right advisor.

    Cons

Not the most social setting. Very every-man-for-himself kind of environment.

    Pros

Office environment was easy going, Upper management was friendly.

    Cons

Poor business model for entry level candidates. Managers showed little attention and provided little direction toward building a client list.

    Pros

Could be a DECENT place to start a sales job

    Cons

It's all about Prospecting. YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR LICENSES, the company does not sponsor you fully. Commission structure the only way you will make a living.

    Advice to Management

Awful management, transparency is one thing, but it should never lead to humiliating or belittling

    Pros

A sales job with decent earning potential. Access to full brokerage outside of insurance/annuities. Reasonable sales goals.

    Cons

Passes on (forcefully in some cases) literally every cost you can imagine to the advisor. Completely opaque compensation structure that is extremely time consuming to track to see if the company is stealing from you after passing on every cost. Useless middlemen/whole saler types in a company filled with middlemen. Worst of all, as a Life Insurance Company, the only universally loathed department within the company is AXA's very own underwriting/national operations life insurance processing unit. The company itself may profit from some of the "tools" it "provides" (charged to the advisor)

    Advice to Management

Take all that money you are wasting to hire cronies, hacks, and the worst kind of middle manager and hire more underwriters and staff that have more than just a pulse and alleviate some of the cost burdens to the advisors. The lack of any formal HR of any kind and organizational controls (protecting the advisors) may haunt you in the form of a class action law suit for breach of labor laws.

    Pros

there are no pros, they don't help you get clients, the training is a joke, and they fire you if you don't hit quotas also they have a big turn over rate.

    Cons

you must pay for you licenses and they only reimburse a 80% and managers are there to take advantage of you.
