Pros
Great atmosphere to work on it. They push you to cross your proper limits.
Cons
The place was not the headquarter and I was looking for something much bigger.
Advice to Senior Management
I don not have any advice to give to the leadrship of AXA because from what I heard they are really professional.
Pros
good employer, nice co workers
Cons
big company, far from home
Advice to Senior Management
ok
Pros
Large well established Firm, Flexible work schedule, good relationship with fellow co workers, smaller staff so more opportunities to take on more responsiblity.
Cons
Pay is not that great, they do not recognize hard work and dedication as they just need individuals to do tasks.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize employees who show potential and want to do well, reward them and provide them compensation to keep them engaged and motivated.
Pros
Good pay
Learning opportunities
Good work culture
Cons
need to plan holidays for the year at the beginning so difficult to get leave if needed in between.
Avoid getting in the politics within the organization.
Advice to Senior Management
Nothing much.
Pros
Rewarding work experience.
Good people
Very good system on staff evaluations
Decent pay package
Stable fees during recession
No cutbacks during recession
Cons
Big company makes for a distance between crew and management.
Still a tad too "french" but growing internationally incorporating different backgrounds.
Advice to Senior Management
Overall good job.
Could continue to become more international and adopt a more international culture.
Future generation will be even more focused on work/life balance.
Pros
Good benefits package. Salaries not bad. Like any other place, there are some good people to work with (but not always).
Cons
Limited opps to develop your potential - Year on year the employee survey highlights the same complaints about not having access to career development opportunities
No career paths and little to no visibility for career advancement or mobility - There is literally NO internal mobility function or recruitment function. You are 100% at the mercy of your HR Business Partner to know you, to know about the opportunities elsewhere. Unfortunately they are so overloaded that there is no time to do any of this. So they can't fill vacant slots and managers die of overload, and employees can't move and they die of disappointment and burnout. All the while, the only thing that MIGHT work is the internal network. But even then, no guarantees. It is the most political place I have ever been or seen.
The hours are brutal, primarily because they are understaffed and again, can't find resources even if there is a role posted and approved.
Incredibly political. Unlike anything I have ever seen. Be very, very careful with your back.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop using the employee opinion survey (Scope) as a diagnostic and start doing something with the information to effect change. Stop fooling yourself that a high engagement score means that employees intend to stay or go the extra mile.
Look at creating an internal recruitment function that actually promotes mobility and taps the potential, hearts and minds of people and staffs empty roles so you don't burn out those who have that have to personally fill in the gaps.
Pros
Very flexible hours
Relaxing environment
More competitive products than other places like AIA and Prudential.
You 've got basic salary
Cons
Messy management
No marketing support
You need to find your own clients.
The investment consultants have low continuity.
Low morale in the company
Advice to Senior Management
Management should have long term view, put more resources on the marketing campaign instead of just pushing people to sell.
Pros
Work-life balance
Good place to retire
Cons
No challenging work
Lack of direction from management
Growth is static due to small size of company(its a captive company)
Advice to Senior Management
Stop giving promotions/awards only to key resources. They do not make up the entire company!
Pros
Very friendly and they all helped me when i needed some direction on the issues at hand. So i think its pretty awesome.
Cons
they are not the most effective group of people, pretty much screw around all day and do minimunm work everyda.
Advice to Senior Management
There are many othert jobs out there in which you will find a more rewarding experience like wokring for a small firm with less people
Pros
For a big company they try and keep you informed.
Benefits package is good.
Cons
Politics, Politics, Politics.
Nearly impossible to get rid of bad seeds.
Advice to Senior Management
Take a long look at some of the middle managers
