I have been working at Aaron's

    Pros

Love connecting the right merchandise to the right person. The belief that everyone deserves the best things in life is strong here and Aarons affords many the opportunity whereas Rent a Center does not. Ownership means a lot to so many and we help with that. Feels good at the end of a long week. Work for a great regional/fp who respects your efforts and you won't be disappointed.

    Cons

Hours and balance of family and work. Pay is decent not for time spent in stores though. Collections is not for everyone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the expectations real and appreciate the people who work day in and out at the store level. They don't always feel it from GMs and need to know they are appreciated too. Reevaluate pay scales.

I have been working at Aaron's full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Really solid benefits for a retail company-- Three medical plans to choose from with HSA and FSA savings options and vision and dental options as well. My eye doctor said Aaron's insurance is some of the best he has seen! Store associates get vacation after only 6 months, paid sick time and closed most holidays. The store is closed on Sundays so I can always count on Sundays with my family. The company matches my 401k contribution which is a rarity these days! Aaron's offers great bonus and commission opportunities, and the ability to earn increases based on performance each year. There is a confidential employee assistance program to help with personal needs. The company offers free life insurance as well. They grow leaders from within, and I am an example--I've been promoted twice since I've been here! The culture is business casual conservative.

    Cons

From a benefits perspective, there aren't any!

I have been working at Aaron's

    Pros

Aaron's is a great company to work for, and we have fun while getting our work done. Everyone in the company feels like part of a large family thanks to the company's strong culture.

There is a lot of opportunity for advancement within the organization, and the company offers fair pay in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. I have personally met the CEO and several other executives within the company - and they all remember my name. That's the Aaron's difference!

    Cons

The online training modules that all new hires interact with are outdated. New hires also complete training in the field, which is great. The company is in the process of revitalizing its training program, but as of current the online portion is irrelevant.

You are only eligible for merit increases on an annual basis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue doing what you are doing with the company's plan for the future - very excited to see what the new business model and the employees' support of it achieves.
