    I worked at Aaron's full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good Bens for a franchisee, Aaron's pay scale is solid in the industry, and by far exceeds standards that is set by it's competitor, Rent A Center. I had the blessing of working for Jimmy Day, and Ford Bohanan . DPR, and Green River respectively.

    Cons

Both Jimmy and Ford's upper management are SOLID ! They give you the latitude, with common sense, to make solid decisions. If you perform and grow your stores the money will come! For those of you that have had the experience of both, Rent A Center and Aaron's, clearly Aaron's is a much wiser and more sustainable option. Customers and associates alike!!
The hours can be taxing, what is life balance in anyones life??? A great opportunity to learn BUSINESS in real time!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep extra ham sandwiches on hand for Rent A Center, they will need one!!
Consider this an act of humanity!
Make sure that goals are realistic, and tiered as some metro areas need more attention due to economic adversity,
    and limited labor pools...

I have been working at Aaron's

    Pros

All I can say is good benefits

    Cons

upper management does not show appreciation for store level associates. Everybody is for themselves. They show favortism with promotions and regional managers do not have store associates back they fold when the customer call in complaint even though the associates can be right the regionals unmind their decisions which allow the customers to get away with certain things

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have your employees back, show appreciation to store level associates after all they are the ones doing the hard work!!! create a worklife balance thats reasonable every associates does not want to work until 9pm while you are at home at 5pm enjoying your family and by the time we make it home our family is asleep!!!

    Pros

got to work inside and outside of store unrealistic expectations were given by managers and order to acheive goals that were difficult to reach

    Cons

never had enough time to complete assignments, upper managers were incompetent and rude did not care about employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

managers should be more considerate and caring for employees instead of just being overly concerned about hitting the numbers

    I worked at Aaron's

    Pros

Ok health insurance no other pros

    Cons

Over 60 hours a week, 6 days a week no days off, you will have no life working at aarons. They offer a GM boot camp but they don't send half of their general managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Aaron's is under paying their associates and general managers. No matter how many hours you work, no raise increase unless you obtain a unreasonable amount of customers. They pray on urban communities and people who receive social security benefits. Once customers don't pay their bills the general manager is terminated.
