I have been working at Aaron's full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Aaron's is slowing catching up to the current trends in business. This includes e-commerce, recruiting, payroll, IT, etc. This growth allows great opportunities for young professionals that are willing to work hard and navigate the road blocks ahead.

    Cons

Every manager believes their way is correct. There is too much talking and not enough listening going on. Leadership should always be willing to listen to the people that are hired to give advice. Otherwise, people are being paid to just do things the way they've always been done. We all have to be willing to get uncomfortable in order to grow and prosper.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen, consider there is value in the advice of others.

    I worked at Aaron's

    Pros

Ok health insurance no other pros

    Cons

Over 60 hours a week, 6 days a week no days off, you will have no life working at aarons. They offer a GM boot camp but they don't send half of their general managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Aaron's is under paying their associates and general managers. No matter how many hours you work, no raise increase unless you obtain a unreasonable amount of customers. They pray on urban communities and people who receive social security benefits. Once customers don't pay their bills the general manager is terminated.

    Pros

Great store work environment and generally good people to work with. Good pay for a good effort.

    Cons

Cheat customers and make sales reports say whatever they need them to say in order to satisfy upper management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more customer driven instead of money driven. Loyal customers spend more than on customer that is forced to overpay!

    I worked at Aaron's full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The job is easy enough. The company promotes from within. There are regular opportunities for overtime. The company gives a great benefits package. You get every Sunday off. Paid holidays. Decent employee discount.

    Cons

The management trainee program is a joke. You bust your butt to get a promotion only to be told that all manager positions are lateral movements. Which means there will be no pay increase until you reach the General Manager position. Your average working day is 12 hour shift which leaves no time for school or family. The company could care less about the quality of merchandise they are grossly overcharging customers for. Outdated marketing tools.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a better training program. Have the stores procedures be more uniform. Better overall organization. More responsibilities should always come with increased pay.
