Former Employee – worked at Abaxis full-time for more than a year
Pros – As a Veterinary Technician the products could make your job easier- if they work.
Great group of clinics to work with across the country.
Cons – Management of the customer service group is poor at best.
No training given- you are supposed to figure it out yourself.
"Customer service" is all lip service- it's all about the number of calls made per day, not about the end result (happy customers and higher sales)
Advice to Senior Management – When an employee goes to HR to report their manager for harassment and retaliation take it seriously. You should do actual exit interviews with people who have left the customer service department to find out what is really going on.

Former Employee – worked at Abaxis
Pros – Excellent benefits, and work environment. sometimes challenging however not particularly stressful.
Cons – The scientific end of the operation, not really R&D, more development, was very arrogant and brittle. they tried to manage engineering efforts however did so poorly resulting in ten to fifteen year old designs that never improved. Manufacturing was always left hanging. They often would comment in terms of their importance, referring to all other functions and people as "rote" or not significant- Not team players!
Advice to Senior Management – They need to decide whether or not the company is going to grow, and if so get out of the way and hire the key operations, engineering, and yes, R&D staff that will allow for unfettered growth. Too much old baggage with the current executive management team.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
