Pros – if you want to be busy with work, AMO is the place for you. there's no time for idling around, the day goes by pretty fast. plenty of opportunities to gain experience.

Cons – inadequate resources, short-staffed, fast turnover of employees, politics gets in the way of doing one's work

Advice to Senior Management – listen to your worker bees more, understand that your employees are trying to get the job done so you will have bonuses at the start of the year, so do not involve them in your politics

Pros – Good salary & benefits. Good job for generic ops.

Cons – Weak R&D leadership on up. Insufficient competencies to do complex hardware-based medical devices with discipline & design control. Pseudo-technical manager hoards power/resources through fear to "solve" problems & gets promoted. Meanwhile, the real design issues remain. Silo'd staff needs a true team environment. Frequent re-orgs & layoffs including lower management. Subtle but powerful politics.

Advice to Senior Management – Hope that a deep FDA audit doesn't happen. Hire & support honest people not charlatans. Build skilled teams as the FDA mandates.

Cons – There is a serious issue at the Senior management level that continue to result in the high employee turnover rate. Senior management has no experience in managing people, their staff or projects. They display very poor communication, no recognition for employee achievements or hard work and provide no support for their staff. Senior management here is known to have bad intentions, do not support their staff, and uses primative tactics that continue to demotivate, discourage and disrespect their employees which result in employees constantly looking for employment elsewhere and high turn over rate. They have high demands but have no clue to what is needed to sucessfully execute or complete priority projects. They are only out for themselves and are too busy playing the political game and will not hesitate to blame others when issues arises in efforts to deflect blame from themselves. They will make empty promises upon hire to reel you in the company such as balance of work and family life and flexible work hours however once you are there, everything changes. They openly display favortism, do not treat all their employees fairly, are not at all flexible with all of their staff and some are expected to work unreasonable work hours away from their family while others are not. Even then, you will not receive any appreciation or acknowledgement for your dilegence and commitment. The all around bad management here (at manager level & above) results in unhappy, highly stressed, frustrated, disgruntal employees which result in a lack of team efforts and many environmental issues. If you are thinking of joining their Quality Assurance department, please do your research and think twice. There are many good companies out there, unfortunately this is not one of them.

Advice to Senior Management – Senior management should all resign immediately to make room for more experienced, competent leaders who know how to motivate and manage people. Respect is earned not given based on your ranking or position title. Learn to treat your employees the way you would want to be treated.

Pros – it is a job, good benefits, other than that, I cannot think of any other reasons to work for AMO

Cons – Unethical behavior by superiors, rude co-workers, selfish attitude of management, does not like giving you time off; Worked in the RA/Medical Compliance department and people are rude, and do not take responsibility for their work. Dominating attitude of do not take responsibility for your own self, but blame someone else. Had a supervisor who harassed me at home, and co-workers who were friendly one minute, but rude the next. I had ideas for workflow improvement and wanted to present my ideas to the VP of my group/department. Supervisor would not allow me to submit my thoughts to the VP. Employees seem more interested in their bonuses and merit increases than ethics. You are expected to work overtime, no questions asked. You are expected not to use your sick/vacation time. Around the holidays it becomes a race for who can get to their boss first to get the best days off. Then, you get the days you want off, but your co-workers do not, and they are rude to you for it because they have to take alternate days off. You should not have to compete for time off, nor be made to feel bad because you take time off. AMO quickly became an atmosphere of backstabbing, manipulative, people only interested in themselves. Stay away from AMO. Will never work there again. Salary was $40k/year

Advice to Senior Management – listen to subordinates, give praise where it is due, stop blaming others for your own mistakes and incompetence, allow employees time off when they need it

Cons – Strong silos, many people feel "its not my job," little ability to make decisions at lower levels, with Abbott purchase a lot of pressure to produce a positive bottom line short term with little long term view
