    Pros

International opportunities, work with young fun people, strong emphasis on personal development, decent benefits, detailed communication from home office, all stores held to same standards

    Cons

pay is awful, too much micro management, doesn't allow for much creativity, recruiting and interview process is mostly image based, store managers have little to no visibility to reporting (overall sales, UPT, AVT, profit/loss, sales margin, etc.)

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The managers and models will love you... if you're beautiful and talk in a certain way. It's a high-energy work environment, but you don't every have to do anything that's too difficult. It's really fun to work and joke around with tons of attractive, young people. My work friends were super fun to go out with! Work was always a great self-esteem boost.

    Cons

Managers really talk down to customers if they don't fit with the culture of the store, and your coworkers can be extremely rude to customers as well.
Models who are less attractive generally get less priority with hours and roles in the store. You almost have to play dumb and vapid to do well.
The managers make the models do a lot of meaningless tasks. You are always required to look "busy."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reevaluate priorities. A lot of customers get scared away by the rudeness and aggressive atmosphere of the store. A paying customer is a paying customer... no matter what they look or talk like.

    Pros

I loved that everyone I worked with was very young. We were all inspiring to each other and were all in the same space in life. We got paid great, although were worked very, very hard. The home office is beautiful and was lovely to work in such an environment.

    Cons

Worked around the clock with insane deadlines far too often. The CEO was a big hinderance in progress because one minute he would love something, and the next minute he'd hate it and you would be left with nothing and having to somehow find the drive to even attempt redoing it. It wasn't very appreciated work. Also, it was in Ohio. Not the most exciting destination.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that design takes time. It's not like we can just type in a formula and voila! Perfect Design!
