Pros
Promotion happens within the company! They genuinely want to groom and strongly encourage the growth of their management! They actually look forward to the day that your in their shoes! We work our asses off! But lord they really do want to see you succeed. They do not support an individual who is comfortable with staying in the same position and showing no passion for themselves nor the brand.
Cons
The hours are dreadful at times. But its retail. What do you expect???
Advice to Senior Management
We need raises. The salary should increase if we're able to continue to open so many stores internationally. We really love the brand. That's why we stay. But our compensation sometimes is not enough to get us through one week sometimes. You guys should really think about the little guys. Its really hard down here. Think about us too. Love you tho ;)
Pros
Good looking people
Good benefits
Cool atmosphere
Store discount
Cons
Low Salary
Long Hours
Reek of AF cologne everyday
Standing/walking a lot
Advice to Senior Management
Increase salary commensurate to work involved
Pros
The discounts are ok if you like the companies clothes, its good for college kids who want some extra money. management will work around your class time just be prepared to give up your weekends.
Cons
if your good you'll always be working, hours can be very long during the holidays and management can be as lost as you are sometimes.
Advice to Senior Management
Give your associates a little more training and study the product yourself. start promoting the people you want to stick around.
Pros
Learn from others who may inspire you
Fun environment
Learn ins and outs of running a business
Valuable experience for recent grads
Cons
Favortism hurts you
If disliked you will eventually feel bad about yourself
If you are disliked in any way or if you are struggling with something you will be pushed out and in some circumstances you will not be given help/tools to help you improve
If your stuck in the doghouse as listed above, don't expect positive praise often. Even when you start to feel proud of your accomplishments and want to talk about those positive experiences
Advice to Senior Management
Teach, Coach, Motivate! Provide balance of feedback. Peple want that praise...a blend of good and bad. Hearing praise/feedback makes you a better leader! (Learned/Shared Experience)
Pros
- Amazing co-workers that will probably end up becoming your close friends
- Very simple and easy tasks at work
- Customer interaction makes the day go by faster
- Flexible hours
Cons
- Low pay (But the job is pretty easy)
- Repetitive or boring tasks such as taglining or staying in the fitting rooms
- Low discount, only 30% off, with the exception of a few "Triple A" items that are 50% off.
Advice to Senior Management
- Try to be friendly to employees of all levels, including models and associates.
- Improve discounts, 30% off is slightly low considering the overpricing of A&F.

Advice to Senior Management
Must give store managers more hours to work with per week. Must be more flexible with look policy concerning dress code. Store managers need to learn to make good working relationships with employees.
