    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give the veterans of the store more hours than new hires. Or the people who actually do the work.

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    - chance to easily get manager experience if you stay there long enough
    - attractive looking co-workers who are there for the same reason

    Cons

    - Management has no idea what they're doing. They're barley any older than you.
    - Not much to look forward to but folding.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try and seem a little more professional

I have been working at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Great atmosphere.
    Fun workers.
    Fairly laid-back.
Always have a good time at work. Customers can be a pain but the job is never too demanding.

    Cons

    Pay is not competitive.
    Promotions take a while.
Raises are very hard to come by.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Gotta be aware of what your competition is doing and do it better. Company refuses to be trendy and mainstream. Bad habit of getting stuck in their ways, consistently producing over priced graphic tees and paying employees very low wages.

I have been working at Abercrombie & Fitch part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

They work around your schedule pretty well. Very easy work and an easy job to get as long as you are outgoing and don't mind folding constantly. 30% discount and it goes up when the season/ uniform changes.

    Cons

I got no hours at all doing part time impact there was times where it had been so long I wouldn't receive a pay check. ( you get payed every other week) There are no chances of promotions or raises. You make minimum wage no matter what. They also are very much about how you look.

I have been working at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Relaxed environment, nice clothes/discount, easy (so long as you aren't dumb), room for growth, competitive pay, travel opportunities.

    Cons

Poor management, promotions can be a little political, unprofessional, high stress, no overtime pay and you'll likely work more than 40 hours a week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No one is held accountable for their work, which means the few hard workers do everything in the store with little to no recognition.

Good stepping stone into management but growth is stagnant

Former Employee - Visual & Store Manager in Las Vegas, NV
Former Employee - Visual & Store Manager in Las Vegas, NV

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Liked the people I worked with, great stepping stone into retail. learned a lot about visuals, displays, new store openings recruiting, hiring, and scheduling.

    Cons

high turn over which leads to difficulty in moving up . Also the managers above font have anywhere to go growth wise which leaves you stagnant. unless you can move out of state career growth is lacking. lots of promises about shift in positions with no follow through. lots of work with little pay. hiring of teens who are not responsible enough to be dependable employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

don't promise anything to anyone. if managers in DM and RM positions are not planning to go anywhere don't promise lower management upward movement when there's no openings to come. hire older more responsible people who fit the image rather than young college kids

    Pros

Flexible schedule, not held accountable for too much.

    Cons

Terrible managing, treated terrible by management and customers automatically by reputation. Severely damages future opportunity by which other employers discredit your experience because they don't take A&F seriously.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire based on actual intelligence, not just by having a degree.
