    Pros

Very organized scheduling technique, long hours (some shifts more that 12 hours), great money, generally good people, staff and supervisors

    Cons

Just like every other catering company the events are here and there. Only a few shifts a month during off season. When the season is full speed, the shifts are too often.

    Pros

good pay, no big responsibilities. Extremely organized and clean.

    Cons

can't have a life, rude, vengeful managers, don't give bathroom breaks, you can work 17 h on your feet with no more than 20 min break to eat, does not provide transportation when workers have to leave late nights far from public transportation.

    Pros

The people you work with and the team atmosphere

    Cons

Upper management does not practice what they preach... they don't take care of those who try to take care of them.

    Advice to Management

Reward hard work...and those who go the extra mile..... not the people who screw up time and time again

    Pros

    Amazing events
    Constant variation
    Ability to try different foods
    See culinary trends
Able to meet many different people through events

    Cons

    Unsocial hours
    No upward mobility
Benefit package is pretty bad compared to other hospitality fields

    Advice to Management

Better incentives as benefits are not that good

    Pros

The people you work with, other bartenders and servers, are amazing, generous and real people.

    Cons

Clients tend to treat the staff poorly. Management likes to talk down to and belittle staff. Overtime after 40 hours in a week i.e. if you worked back to back 16 hour days, you only receive and extra $7.25 per day for what they refer to as "spread of hours." Understaffed in some areas and over staffed in others. Poor food for staff as well. Not a lot of opportunity for financial advancement.

    Advice to Management

Treat your servers like people, not like dogs.

  11. Great place to work...for a while.

I worked at Abigail Kirsch part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company cares deeply about its service, but it has shifted its focus towards the meal aspect of catering. This can be beneficial, because the food ensures the success of a catering company...however...the service can guarantee its failure...the wait staff need more training and the bartenders need more of an incentive to work other than just being able to talk more frequently with the guests. Captains need to stick together more and Maitre'Ds need to be recognized for their ability to make the client feel like their event is the most important event of the season.

    Cons

Dysfunctional at times, but everyone works as a team...unless they are tired, frustrated, or just don't want to be there that day. It is not a consistent source of income for most but it can be quite lucrative during the high season.

    Advice to Management

Promote staff based on management ability, not based on availability and loyalty.
