    Pros

People seem to like running their own sites like a small business. There is some amount of independence. It may be a good company for a first job, or early in your career.

    Cons

The company is a bit technologically challenged, and maybe, because of this, disorganized. Due to the independent nature of the company's style, there isn't much of a "culture" or "values." The benefits take a huge bite out of your paycheck.

I worked at Able Services full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Although the contract which you are working makes all the difference the HR dept. is helpful. Very good support and training in the Boston region. Regional managers are very professional, personable and work with you with each client. Again lots depend on individual contract.

    Cons

3rd party and clients can scale back services at any point.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More communication through region will promote best practices and ability to share resources.

    Pros

You will meet different phases of engineering and systems. They will eventually find you a fit for your level of skills.

    Cons

They are in the business of renting engineers therefore if they lose a contract you are out of a job until something else open

I worked at Able Services full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

decent pay, I met a lot of new people and made great friends.

    Cons

there are no pay raises and co-workers are all related to each other and point fingers when something goes wrong. you put up with six managers that treat you like crap ''even though there the ones that are not cleaning it'' and are disrespectful

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

respect your workers and treat them right and listen to both sides of the story of the scum bag clients and your working there butts off workers. have managers that don't say disrespectful things that can lead to a lawsuit, which is what I could have done but didn't want to bother with time and managers that are bad at words and don't believe there workers.

Former Employee - Assistant Manager/Facilities Engineer in Loves Park, IL

I worked at Able Services full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

My supervisor was a stand-up guy, most of the time. And he worked with his employees up to the point where he felt they were not as committed or responsive as he was personally. The group was a contract group working for a major food manufacturer and after equipment was delivered, we were pretty much left on our own to sink or swim.

    Cons

There was no managerial support from above. The regional representatives only showed up once to see how we were faring. After that, the came into the facility but never came to see us or even inquire how we were doing. In addition, the Able Company/Crown Services was growing so fast that the systems they had in place could not adequately keep up with the data they received. As a result, too much misinformation was tossed about that had no reflection in any of the realities that we faced on a daily basis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put people in place who understand the need for documentation. People who are Professionals with people experience. Stability is a requirement if you wish to present your company effectively to your customers. In this case, there was no stability to be found..

    Pros

    Friendly atmosphere with exceptional teamwork.

    Cons

Struggle with process development/improvement; difficulty operating and thinking like a large company. Very reactive vs proactive management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think outside the box. Stay loyal to employees even when not politically convenient.
