    Pros

Academy diligently seeks ways to keep their employees happy. Leadership is fair and friendly.

    Cons

Academy is very accommodating when requesting time off. The pay is competitive and raises after a short period of employment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management can spend more time on the floor to maintain integrity of store and improve team atmosphere

    Pros

    Decent pay, workload isn't difficult.

    Cons

You may find yourself watching the clock when your department isn't very business

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Academy Sports & Outdoors part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible on schedule. Pretty minimal work. Lots of down time. For the most part pretty nice coworkers.

    Cons

hard to advance. if you close plan to stay till midnight in a lot of cases. Management at my store were very sexist and flirted with the girl associates a lot. In one case a manger got fired for dating a cashier. Hire up staff typically just walk around and criticize what kind of work you do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be so arrogant. Stop flirting with your staff. Be more lenient on promotions. It stinks to work hard and not get noticed because you haven't been there for years and years.
