It was a pretty good experience and simple job overall with a friendly environment. It's perfect for a college student.

I worked at Academy Sports & Outdoors part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The coworkers were easy to work with and friendly. The pay was more than minimum wage for a sales associate. They would put you in drawings if they noticed you doing a good job or were complimented by a customer. I won a gift card to red lobster at one time.

    Cons

The job could get boring with the 6 hour shifts and no break. It would pass by slowly unless you kept busy with a task.

    Pros

A very pleasant atmosphere radiates from all associates. The customer service is A+ and all the product is neat and presentable. Every associate is treated equally and management has great mentoring attitudes. Moving up in the company can be challenging at times but it's worth all the hard work and effort that is put in place.

    Cons

Communication is key, group/team effort on tasks on hand, laziness is not an option, "Work hard or go home!"
