  1. While the company had gone through some positive changes in its corporate structure there were a lot of empty promises

I have been working at Acapulco/EL Torito Restaurants

    Pros

When you get back to the basics of it all it was an exciting place to work.
you are pushed to grow and develop yourself and your team.
They were focused on the guest and the guests needs.
constantly evolving in the approach and delivery.

    Cons

You can get a bit more of a work load than one person should have if you prove to be able to handle it.
A few times the bonuses had been lost due to some accounting errors.
After having completed the requirements for obtaining a promotion and raise you may be made to wait for sometime before it is realized.
The people who knew the most dirty secrets got away with it all, usually the ones who had been there the longest...
Too many closures within the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be careful not to be too good at your job, because when your success is noticed by those who you outperform you will soon find your career in danger without much warning.
When implementation of a new tool, or Program has been chosen it is often rushed into effect and without being fully operational causing more problems and raising the costs associated.
Benefits had been paid for but weren't received due to transitioning from the corporate team who managed them to the third party company that was sourced out to cut costs.

I have been working at Acapulco/EL Torito Restaurants

    Pros

They teach you how to make tasty Mexican food, you have a high chance of getting hired, the manager's are easy too get along with as long as the job gets done.

    Cons

It's extremely unorganized, they are very slow during the week which means they will cut you early if they don't absolutely need the labor. They don't give raises due to the lack of business, so hours are cut and raises in pay ate zero making a living is difficult in this restaurant.

    Pros

Management will look out for you and take care of you IF you are doing your job. Young & talented with new ideas.

    Cons

Wages are often not negotiable; hours may not be enough to have this as an only job.

I worked at Acapulco/EL Torito Restaurants

    Pros

I loved my co-workers and being in a fast paced environment. Being able to talk to my regulars and enjoy that aspect of my job was great.

    Cons

The management was always all over the place. They were constantly quitting and employees were constantly requesting transfers so non of the prep work ever seemed to get done. Also stock. We were always running out of stocked items because inventory wasn't consistent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think that of the employees were trained better and if the managment was more consistent then there wouldn't have been as many problems. Also communication, that was terrible.

    Pros

They have a good product and great presentation.

    Cons

The upper management was so incompetent that the regional Manager had to spend most of her time at this specific location and neglect the other locations. Upper Management NEVER went out of their way to be bothered with a less than par performance. It was pitiful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    FInd more dedicated workers.

Benefits are good. People are great. Attention to detail in quality of food. Work environment excellent. 25% off food when you bring in your family.

  9. In 30+ years of experience in the hospitality industry I had never worked for a company with such disorganization and lowest standards for employee care.

    Pros

Good people working for the company... Bad people leading it..!!

    Cons

Having to deal with immediate supervisors that not only can not speak English properly but much less write it, thus causing poor communication between mid level management and upper level

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of your COO and everyone he has brought in
Get new regionals that speak at the very least "better" English
at must be able to write it as well.
