Stone age work culture, no processes, your life depends on your manager and buttering skills

I worked at Accelya Kale full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Colleagues are cooperative. There are some people who are willing to work or help; but rigid, outdated processes and autocratic superiors dont allow them to.

    Cons

Running a company for 26+ years has its own advantages & disadvantages. Most of the upper management is old school. They have worked with only one company for all their life and have no idea of how much the outside world has changed. The senior people in this company are senior because of buttering or loyalty. Many of them are moody and indecisive; they change their minds until last minute for every trivial decisions (making team members lives horrible) example: Changing flight booking and hotel booking many times, or changing the client communication 10 times, or changing designs multiple times until last minute (There are many more such examples, every day).

The management still functions on 'Stick or carrot model'. Most of the decisions are taken autocratic way, and team members have little or no say. General attitude is that of squeezing employee for every penny he is paid. There is no work life balance at all.

Your life majorly depends on your boss and your buttering skills. You are expected to be innovative, but have no creative space or freedom; and your boss will make you rework on your 'innovative' work until it meets his imagination. Boss doesnt know what he wants and then goes on altering requirements until the delivery day.

The situation is even more chaotic in Marketing team where there is no appreciation for your work and boss changes his mind/decision every 5 minutes. Worst is you are not allowed to take a leave even if you have enough leave balance (even if that means you have to let leaves lapse or take compulsory leaves at the end of the year). You have to literally beg your superior for each leave except when your are sick.

I would never ever recommend this company to anybody, especially Marketing department. Glad that I am out of it now.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a look outside your box. The world has changed a lot, open your eyes to the facts.
The old school style management decreases productivity and willingness to work in employees.
Stop treating your employees like factory workers, and stop insulting them and their capabilities.
People have families and life; they are not born to serve you 24x7.

    Pros

Good canteen. You will b always occupied with ur work. Supporting admin and accounts. Hr activities are less but good. Allowances n transportation available

    Cons

No growth in terms of career as well as salary.
Poor managent. No job security. If ur manager want to fire u then he will find a way. Managers sucks. Management doesnt listen to employees but their managers. No pramotions. People are sitting their since decades n they get all the credit of others work. Many times u end up working 2 shifts tighether. No appreciation. Manager will ask to do inovations wheras their brains r already falling off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dont pramote people by their tenure but by their skills n ability.

I have been working at Accelya Kale full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good exposure to Unix/Linux, Shell scripting. Also very good experience in PL/SQL development. Ample opportunities to interact with internal and external customers and also in handling different types of situations.

    Cons

No appreciation for your work, employee is not given the work he likes to do. Appraisal process is not good and fair at all, they will never give you the hike or work you want, unless you resign from your job. Overall I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here for long term. Take 1 or max 2 years experience and exit the company fast.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have a lot of talent in the people. However they are never given correct opportunities; thats why attrition rate is higher. You need to do a background check to see if employees are really satisfied with what they have.
