Pros
1. Punctual, sharp, strong skilled people/leaders
2. Knowledge capital and resource library are extensive and very easy to access and find information relevant to interests, industry/work assignments, training, etc.
3. Staffing process for projects is fairly robust and allows the individual to be proactive in identifying growth experiences that match interests
Cons
1. 'Up or Out' policy for promotion - sometimes the project(s) or management team(s) are not the best match in terms of meeting personal development objectives... unfortunately, some people are chased away early as a result
2. Work/Life balance across all levels is a challenge - personal vacation is a nice incentive, but the high demands of travel can be tough to manage for those with family commitments, etc. Flexible work arrangements are available; however rare on the consulting side but the perception of those who take them is neutral
3.
Advice to Senior Management
Leadership is strong, but not everyone shares the right balance of people skills to grow individuals - 360 degree feedback needs to be factored into the evaluation, performance review process. Too many managers have a 'personal focus' and are ill-equipped and unable to develop and promote their own people. They raise unrealistic expectations based on their own capabilities, rather than help the individual to progress strengths and weaknesses.
Pros
Responsibilities given to those who perform, great benefits, easy going culture.
Cons
Travel, salary is a bit lower than competitors in the management consulting field.
Pros
Smart people

Cons
Too big

Work/Life Balance out of wack
Pros
-pretty decent pay coming out of undergrad
-great co-workers who are intelligent and want to help you
-great name to put on your resume
Cons
-HR is horrible
-It is much harder to move throughout the company than advertised
-Career Counselor approach to getting a promotion is a bad idea. Managers need to have more input and not Career counselors
-Always under pressure of getting outsourced
Advice to Senior Management
Work harder on making promotions more transparent. Also actually work with people on their career progression instead of pretending to via the career counselor system. Outsource less of HR.
Pros
large organization, learning opportunities , benefits, social events,
Cons
promotion process, reviews, getting staffed. Never underdtand what is going on in the company
Advice to Senior Management
none
Pros
Work Life balance is okay.
Cons
Poor compensation for experienced hires.
Pay raises and promotions are too much to ask for even if your are the best performer in a project.
Promotions are only based on how talented one is in being able to beg for it which ultimately makes for a huge pool of incompetant managers.
Completely profit oriented, no value or consideration for talented employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize the talent of people who actually do the work for you and compensate/promote them based on that talent.
Pros
Great people, can be fun if you like to travel, plenty of vacation, interesting work
Cons
Maintaining a personal life is difficult if not impossible, lots of politics and promotion/raise decisions based more on overall business rather than individual merit and contribution.
Advice to Senior Management
Reward people who deserve it, it may hurt shareholders in the short run, but will help the business keep the best people and grow the firm in it's competative position.

-Large firm
Advice to Senior Management
-Listen to all your employees, and mandate updard/360 feedback
Pros
- great place to learn consulting basics
- strong culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing
- ability to work internationally, if desired
Cons
- self-service organization, must be comfortable managing own career
