I worked at Accenture (more than a year)

    Pros

If you buy into the culture, and the culture buys into you, a huge amount of exposure and opportunity world wide

    Cons

They do not always practice their core values, and respect for the individual might be hard to find. The communication between Sales staff and client contact staff was limited, even after concerns were registered with Team Lead.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Check how many associates registered concerns with Managers, who promised follow-up, and never hear anything. Manager Open Door policy is good in theory, but when issues are raised and do not get followed up on by Manager (which is against corporate policy) it adds to the job frustration.

    Pros

Very willing to find you more work if one platform contract expires.

    Cons

Some of the managers over the platforms shouldn't be managers due to their experience or knowledge; or should I say lack of knowledge.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you ask your employees to push, push, and work overtime. Then please do not complain about overtime when it's payday.

I worked at Accenture full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They pay well and have above average benefits. The company learning is the same for cube jockeys as consultants. Take full advantage of this.

    Cons

Level A to levels B and C are rife with ineptness. Level A's are brought in from the outside and they bring their damaged culture with them. Level B & C are experts at tossing candy to the cube jockeys. They lack vision to meet the contact demands much less be innovative with the process and make the process better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring from the outside based on what you think will work. Roll up your sleeves to see how the job actually gets done and find out what it takes to make a financial services contract actually renew.

    Pros

Time off is great as well as the benefits. Great people and they care about their employees. Lots of different work groups for any interest.

    Cons

No work life balance. Not very realistic with platform goals

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to the employees more prior to agreeing to unrealistic goals with clients. System availability affect goals immensely.

I worked at Accenture full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You get paid for loads of overtime, youre expected to work 60 hrs/week

    Cons

Corpoorate culture of driving production faster at all costs. Numeous employees were out at one time with stress-related illnesses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop using your bean counters to measure every step, and let the workers do their work.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Projects and Great People. Plenty of training opportunities.
There is a diversity of project opportunities, from cutting edge to the run-of-the-mill with minimal travel.
    Lots of Travel perks.

    Cons

Lack of opportunities to grow in the regional offices - need to be in a major metro area like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles to succeed as a late entrant.
The Matrix management style takes a lot to get used to - you have to satisfy at least two different Partners and sometimes a lot more to be able to move up in the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep focused on creating new opportunities.
Streamline the reporting structure, so that the people who you are working for directly have the main say in how you are evaluated.

    Cons
