I worked at Accenture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Their biggest strength are their employees because they are very helpful and knowledgeable of their job. The company as a whole strong really believe in their set of core values and seeks to uphold them in everything they do. Truly a Global company where alot of business is in India

    Cons

They are an out-servicing company so at any moment a contract can close with a client and you would have to move to another client or be let go. They really do believe in the saying "These chairs have wheels for a reason" because at any moment you could be working with a new client. The pay is not good for this economy. Company feels more like a temp agency

    Advice to Management

Just be honest with your employees when the time comes about possible job losses. Change your mindset about keeping a close door policy where the employees are the last to know of any new changes

I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Every vendor wants to work with you. Very process driven, with excellent results. Very enterpenurial culture. Minimum management oversight for senior employees. Super benefits. Travel.

    Cons

Very political at times. Can be reall bad on large projects. Slow to change culturally except rename and re-org. Poor pay compared to industry. HR rules salaries with no leeway for Managers Review/promo process subjective and marketing driven. Great cultural mantras that are rarely followed. Cut-throat among Execs who are ranked by revenue and try to steal each others business. Too many chiefs, very management top heavy with very few who can actually execute. Travel. People are pigeon holed, hire outside verus internal transfer. Time at firm trumps time in Industry for experienced hires when promotions are awarded.

    Advice to Management

Pay better, flatter Management structure, reward teaming inside firm versus all or nothing accounts, walk your talk on culture. Treat experienced hires better, recognize ACN way is not the only way.
