Pros
I was thrown into a lot of projects which at first is very scary. But jumping in, helped me learn A LOT. I have been able to work from home for the past couple years which has been nice as well.
I also felt the compensation was fair for the work I was doing.
They also offer trainings which are nice (both online based and classroom based). They also do a nice all day meeting with SR Execs and lunch when you get a promotion. There's also a lot of networking and social opportunities since a lot of the employees are on different projects.
Cons
Onboarding was a challenge. My first day, they didn't give me a specific time to meet. I came early (around 7:30) and ended up waiting a few hours for the HR Rep to come in. I think it was just a miscommunication but I was wondering if I had a job or not. I also had to start at the client project that same day and did not have orientation until two weeks later. While trying to figure out my client project work, I had to do some mandatory trainings and coordinate going to orientation at the same time. This was a challenge. I'm glad I stuck through it though. It has been worth it.

Cons

Advice to Senior Management
pay salaries that are in line with the hours and load employees work
Pros
Accenture is a good company to work with. They have a good work culture, good employee benefits ( including good medical benefits).
Cons
There is no proper allocation of projects based on experience and skills at a managerial role. Promotions are very slow !
Advice to Senior Management
To be more transparent in appraisal especially with promotions. Sometimes only a show off guy ends with moving up the ladder!
Pros
Great company policies, very nice people to work with. Communicative management team. Great network of alums spanning the globe to call on.
Cons
Low pay compared to peers in the industry. This is the main complaint. Also, salary increases can be small for all but the top 1% of employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Great job in terms of company policies and flexibility. Great job developing resources internally. Should provide more emphasis on MBA programs.
Pros
Accenture is a great place to work, they have excellent benefits. Their compensation packages seem to be pretty competitive with the industry. There are lots of international opportunties if you have the right skills and expertise. The people at Accenture are usually highly motivated and the teams out in the field (true consultants) are some of the sharpest people I have ever worked with. They have a decent knowledge exchange mechanism in place for you to look for assets and IP that the firm has produced.
It is a strong company that is being run by a leader (Bill Green) that is well respected across the firm.
Cons
It is a very BIG company, and it is very easy to get lost in the maze. It is more "relationship" based than it should be given its size (people tend to gravitiate to what they know or what they have used in the past, regardless of how assets have evolved, or who might have a better set of skills to do a job). It is a large organization and there are a lot of experts that can be wired into projects, but the old partner mentality of building up a pyramid of known entities and promoting those people after x years of service is still there, after all it is an "up or out" model.
Lastly unless you "grew up" at Accenture, started from a fresh out of school analyst (or similar) it is difficult to break into a click or network. Bill Green may be a strong CEO, but the people 2-3 levels down might not be getting the total picture and aligning to Bill's direction.
Advice to Senior Management
Mgmt needs to figure out how to leverage the people assets that they have, too many times people will gravitate only to the entities that they know. We are change agents for clients but are the worse internal change agents I have seen. Accenture needs to figure out how to grow and evolve beyond "organically".
Internal communications across the firm is not done very well. It is difficult to see how Bill Green's top priorities are being trickled down into the different teams.
Pros
Great Learning, Great Co-Workers, a lot of stretch opportunities, Work Hard / Play Hard, Great visibility, opportunity to work in a number of other companies, great resume builder - opens a lot of doors. I loved the opportunity to grow and the challenging interactions provided by the intelligent co-workers surrounding me.
Cons
Often there is little opportunity to steer career. You have to go where you are needed, even if you have no interest. Since going public, the compensation is not what it once was.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on building an environment where consultants have more flexibility to grow where there passion is.
Pros
The people, the dynamic environment and the flexible work arrangments
Cons
the salaries and the job stability

Pros
It is a large company that offers employess a number of different options in potential career paths. There are industry segments availabe that allow employess to pursue areas of interest. The company offers substantial benefits in terms of leave time and health care options, so decisions regarding vacation and medical provider planning are easier. As Accenture is a global company, employees often have the opportunity to work with and interact with resources from around the globe. Many resources re-locate to other cities for a specified period of time for cultural enrichment and skills enhancements. Opportunities to move in other areas are generally encouraged.
Cons
The size of the company sometimes makes individuals feel more like numbers than valued employees. There is an occassional disconnect in management understanding of staff needs.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior management should take the time outside of the annual employee survey to gain a stronger understanding of staff support needs.
