ProsNetworking - you can reach out lots of people with a variety of expertise in technology and business
    Flexibility - work from home/remotely

ConsSalary - it's not the best at higher career levels
Career - tends to move you towards management rather than staying on technology

    CFM Analyst/Specialist (Former Employee)
    Minneapolis, MN

ProsExposure to various clients, personalities, software. At analyst level you get OT which is a motivating factor as they will WORK you weekends and evenings due to deliverable.

ConsGetting promoted from Analyst to Specialist will be a DEMOTION. No OT is given anymore. You base salary increase wont be CLOSE to what you made as an Analyst with almost guaranteed 20% ot due to large workloads, constant attrition and lack of organization.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to develop a better Career path and increase Pay. Otherwise, competitors will keep coming and picking up the bright and young of Accenture Finance with 30% salary bumps!

A great place to develop a career

Management Consulting Senior Manager (Current Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsGreat people, good knowledge capital, good opportunities to create network and reputation. Open and transparent performance appraisal system. People development is critical: both your own and others.

ConsLarge organization, can take time to navigate especially as an experienced hire. Many checks and balances are in place for good reason - this can come across as bureaucratic.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue the evolution of management consulting, cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit within the organization. Find new ways to retain the best people.

Lots of opportunity, but only if you make a really strong case for what you want

    Business Analyst (Current Employee)
    Washington, DC

ProsLots of smart people who are easy to work with. Knowledge sharing of best practices. Challenging work to achieve high performance.

ConsThere are so many people involved and so much corporate bureaucracy that sometimes it is difficult to get things done unless you become very vocal, especially on federal contracts.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe best thing about Accenture is its challenging work and its core values (especially the respect for its individuals). Living those core values everyday is the key.

If you are in solutions (ATS), or thinking about joining solutions, then think twice before you do.

    Senior Analyst Programmer (Current Employee)
    Chicago, IL

    ProsLooks good on your Resume
Training, but it depends which workforce you are in
Don't have to travel, if you dont want to if you are in "Solutions"
Pay is below Average only for "Solution" Workforce

ConsIf you are in "ATS" or now it's called Solution then you'r career will go no where.

Back in the days lot of people who were not even High School graduates, were put onto this workforce, but then ATS, now Solutions has raised this bar, so all Solution people are well qualified, but ATS Perception will never change.

Work with a Manager from "Consulting" workforce, and see how he takes credit for every single thing you produce, if on a client project.

Few people, running "Solution" workforce, will "NEVER" let you switch your workforce if you have marketable technical skills. Even though Accenture says you can switch your workforce, but if you are stuck in Solutions, then your only option is to quit Accenture.

Again, per Accenture you can switch your workforce, but if you are Solutions workforce, and you have some marketable technical skills, then Solution workforce, will not let you switch. It's not going to happen. Forget it, and either stay as a second class, or leave.

"Solutions" is a cheap workforce, but no will say that on your face. Only when you produce something valuable at a client side, is when you will see how people change on your face. You could realize this within first month of being hired, or some people realize this within 6 months.

First two years, unless you know someone from inside, you will not be promoted, and believe it not, Solution workforce will also not give you a raise as they want to make sure that you will not leave. So, you will not get anything accept few 100 bucks for variable pay. (literally)

No one will say all this to your on your face, you just have to be in it to understand it. Solutions is a cheap workforce, and this will never change. Even though are more qualified then Consultants, but since you are Solutions, no one will see past that.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive Solution People a chance, and have decency to give them credit for there work from of your bosses too. These people, specially new hires have degrees, and are more qualified then Consultants. They were not told during Interview process that they will get looked down at.

Great place to work. Enjoyed my time there.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Reston, VA

    Pros- Quality of people
    - Interesting work
    - Training model

Cons- TRAVEL. Typically if you are in the consulting arm 100% travel is required. Initially its a new experience (especially for those straight out of college); however, you burn out quick.
    - Long work hours to meet sometimes unrealistic timelines.
     - Work/life balance is non-existent. View points on this vary across the firm but for me, it did not exist

ProsExciting and interesting work that allows for creative problem solving with uppper level management of Fortune 500 companies. Excellent staffing opportunities exist for those interested in working on projects outside of their core strengths / specialty. Early promotion opportunities for motivated high performers.
