Pros
- Flexible and dynamic work atmosphere
- Great People
- Travel opportunities
- Stellar reputation and brand
- Rapid growth opportunities
Cons
- Travel (if you don't want to)
- Short line of sight to where you'll be in a matter of months
Pros
Variety of quality projects
Good brand
Bright colleagues
Equal opportunity for promotion
Cons
Some inexperienced staff being promoted as manager, some loves to micro-manage staff
Feels like a virtual organisation, very fluid organisation structure.
One must follow (i.e. travel) where the work is available.
Advice to Senior Management
More leadership training is required for managers and above
Pros
Flexible timings, no micro management, employee has decent work life - family life balance, due to presence in multiple cities, there is decent flexibility to location preferences. Good international exposure.
Cons
Huge organization, so getting pay and benefits customized to individual requirements are very rare. Can get hierarchial so out of turn promotions/pay hikes are very rare.
Due to wide industry presence, catching up with all developments in different industries can be challenging.
Pros
Great internal knowledge sharing, career growth, good benefits.
Cons
Long hours but it feels good to delivery projects on time.
Pros
Can change projects often meaning exposure to many different client problems
Down to earth people who are fun to be around
Great benefits package
Cons
Some less than competent middle management
Long hours, although perhaps no worse than other consulting firms
Tend to following rather than lead so opportunities to be creative with client problem solving are limited
Advice to Senior Management
Don't let incompetent middle management get away with hiding behind the hard work and intelligence of their teams as this is why you lose your best people
Pros
A few years resulted in a lifetime of friends, professional connections, experience and opportunities. Accenture provided the opportunity to work through multiple functional departments (IT, Sales, Marketing, Finance for myself) and through multiple industries. This kind of experience in a relatively short time is of enormous value to me in my current position and looking for new opportunities.
The professional network I developed has proven as valuable as the skills Accenture taught me, and added to that is that Accenture makes better efforts than most other companies to continue to stay connected with former employees and actively work to connect them to new opportunities.
Cons
At some point, it does become a numbers game. The "up or out" culture is what provides the amazing opportunities, but it also results in far to many good employees leaving out of frustration or lack of a landing point short of Senior Executive.
The travel can also be a bit excessive, no one should take a job with Accenture unless they are prepared to be a true road warrior, 48 weeks a year. You might have a run at Accenture with manageable travel for a few years, but eventually you will be on the road for extended periods. If that's not to your liking, don't work there.
Advice to Senior Management
You only have your people, value them as such, invest in them, listen to them and recognize that all management achieves comes at the price of their sweat.
Pros

Few managers don't accept creative ideas and stick to the traditional ways.
