I have been working at Accenture

    Pros

Accenture is an ever growing dynamic company. You are provided with opportunities to learn and grow.
You can choose which industry you want to work in.

    Cons

Accenture is very competitive. If you are someone who is laid back. this is definitely not a place for you. while in Accenture you must be prepared to endure stress during projects.

    Advice to Management

We need to have a better work life balance. We need to focus on one project at a time instead of multiple projects/assignments.

    Pros

Clear process with lot of communication from the HR.
No trick questions, enjoyable people, nice presentation.

    Cons

After being admited, a manager call the new employee to propose a mission. It should be communicated that employee can refuse the mission.

    Advice to Management

Communicate about the selection of the first mission.

    Pros

    - pays relatively OK
    - meritocracy until m-level
    - glocal (global + local)
    - gives a chance to graduates with less prestigious diplomas (esp. in the IT sector)

    Cons

    -not truly global
    -success out is a myth
-fewer and fewer career opportunities as the demographic pyramid ages (lot and lots of old partners)

    Advice to Management

    -make succes-out work again

    Pros

Things are well framed and processed.
Few benefits do exist even if it is often not given to everyone
A French work council with a lot of good propositions...overall nice

    Cons

Too big company with rigid hierarchy
Big projects with a tiny scope for you...make you lose interest for the mission
Mostly IT oriented and management consulting part is ridiculous
Promotion is a joke (few promotions despite a huge increase of activity every year) = Increase in term of turnover but a constant workforce that means more money for directors and less for junior/senior consultants

    Advice to Management

Company values : Accenture try to "greenwash" its image by making partnership/helping NGO such as PlanetFinance which is a joke in the world of NGO and ethic ! Please make real partnership and help real people dont help an NGO which is getting 30% of so called "infrastructure cost"
The rest is the same...just image but no real actions. Nothing in term of footprint reduction is done even if they pretend to do so by making huge marketing and advertisment.

Time-off is also a joke. Except the imposed christmas holidays the rest depend of the management needs which is often 150% of your time. You will work 12h a day (instead of 8h officially) and proably get 2 weeks of holidays if you are lucky. HR don't do their jobs.

Training is relatively well done when you get time to do so. However every training are imposed and you cannot do whatever you want. But there is a big training in Chicago which is well done for networking and competencies...and local training are nice for the part i have tested !

    Pros

Almost limitless opportunities within the organisation
Fairly objective performance management (as objective as it will probably get)
    Lots of international exposure
Flexible training opportunities with the ability to travel to the US
    Decent compensation & benefits package
Usually great colleagues to work with, giving you the ability to learn from others
In general, a very collaborative environment
Tons of tools and knowledge to leverage from
Accenture works almost for the entire Fortune 500, giving you the opportunity to work for the world's most admired companies

    Cons

    Can be very bureaucratic
Need to be assertive for the roles you want, otherwise you might stick around at one client for a very long time
No 9 to 5 culture, extensive travel can be required which can take its toll on work / life balance

    Advice to Management

Be more flexible to individual needs, especially for people who want to work abroad on a junior level
Be more transparent around performance management (making it less of a black box)
