Pros
- Great training
- Excellent, broad exposure to many different companies and functional areas
- Strong benefits package
- Good GLBT network and support
- Desirable travel perks - airline miles, hotel points, per diems
- Offers work alternatives outside of consulting
Cons
- Mid-point salary range compared to market
- Long hours
- Extensive travel
- Raises, evaluation and promotions are very dependent on project/role
- Stronger emphasis of moving work to non-consulting, non-US alternatives
Pros
Exposure to various clients, personalities, software. At analyst level you get OT which is a motivating factor as they will WORK you weekends and evenings due to deliverable.
Cons
Getting promoted from Analyst to Specialist will be a DEMOTION. No OT is given anymore. You base salary increase wont be CLOSE to what you made as an Analyst with almost guaranteed 20% ot due to large workloads, constant attrition and lack of organization.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to develop a better Career path and increase Pay. Otherwise, competitors will keep coming and picking up the bright and young of Accenture Finance with 30% salary bumps!
Pros
The people are great, you will be happy working here if you are looking for a stimulating job you can pursue seriously.
Cons
There is limited growth potential if you are looking for a very grand career, but Accenture is good on your resume, you can use this as a stepping stone.
Pros
Accenture is a great way to kick start your career or develop deep skills as an experienced hire. The people who work here are motivated, intelligent and looking to provide the best services to their clients. The consulting path is aggressive and pushes the individual to excel at the client and in Accenture's organization.
Cons
The major downfall of a management consultant at Accenture is the fact that travel is pretty much a requirement (maybe seen as a benefit to some). When traveling you are required to be on the client site 4 or 5 days of the week (depends on the client) and if you have a family it make for some tough time management. Eventually you find the right rhythm for you and your family, but it just isn't the same as being there in person. Overall Accenture is attempting to off more opportunities to work with employees to meet travel demands, but it will take a few years before telecommuting and flexible work schedules are seen as valuable by some clients.
Pros
workplace flexability and level of compensation
Cons
poor management up the Sr. Leadership level. Mainly in the IT infrastructure department. This may have improved as the result of the "leader" now working directly for Best Buy
Advice to Senior Management
can the dead weight
Pros
Depending on luck, you might get on a good project, which can make or break everything from future roles to compensation.
Good PTO (25 days if memory serves me)
Not hard to find good, fun peers
Cons
Pay grade is below consulting industry standard - get in, get 3+ years, and get out with a 50 - 100% pay increase at a smaller place
Promotions based upon how good of a negotiator your Career Counselor (since they sit in the rankings meetings and have to argue for you)
HR Reps are pointless
Most good talent leaves before ever making Senior Manager, which means Accenture is full of crap at the top.
Offshore work is rampant, be prepared for endless late night conference calls with Manila (hopefully not India as their accents are way too thick to comprehend).
Advice to Senior Management
constant org redesigns (that impact nothing) are pointless, and the performance review process doesn't reward the top performers consistently or properly. Poor pay results in lesser talent sitcking around, while to good talent leaves for better opportunities.
Pros
Decent Pay, Good training, Good MGMT
Cons
Over Worked. 7 day work.
Advice to Senior Management

Pros

Advice to Senior Management
What is the affect of offshore on work-life balance and are we burning out our best to sacrifice a low cost to serve?
Pros
Some good people to work with. Professional atmosphere. Not the fastest responder, but they do move all-in when they move.
Cons
Outsourced a ot of internal jobs to India. Limited opoutrunites to chnge jobs but they did have a good 'job bank'.
Advice to Senior Management
They made a dificult transition from private, partner based institution to a public company. They treated the people that were let go decently for the most part.
