Pros
The People are intelligent and good to work with.
Cons
The hours can be strenuous at times. But it balances out.
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Very Smart People
Challenging work
Competitive training budget
The project I am on is very demanding and the work never ceases. Some of the work is even enjoyable if you have responsibilities in the planning.
Cons
Terrible Work/Life Balance
Weak communication from Project mgmt (grapevine rules)
Very political
I see my colleagues more than I see my family. I don't even travel, which is bad. Lack of career advancement hinders long term planning....career becomes just a job.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat the people like you want them around.
Pros
Good people; good technology; good benefits
Cons
travel; difficult work life balance.
Advice to Senior Management
I don't have any advice - this isn't the best place to work.
Pros
- Good People To Work With
- Good Benefits
- Good Work/Life Balance
Cons
- Promotion process very politicial
- Increased workload but minimal additional support given due to recent hiring freeze and workforce cuts
- Poor Communication on what is happening with workforce and current economic environment
- Too much focus on moving roles offshore rather than keeping them here in the US
Advice to Senior Management
- try to decrease politicial process on promotions
- focus efforts on existing remaining workforce morale
- keep roles in the us
Pros
Excellent professional experience. Project based work. Great PTO policy.
Cons
Travel. Annual review process. Tiering meetings are brutal and cut throat.
Advice to Senior Management
Overall, Senior Management is strong at Accenture.
Pros
The best reason is the ability to Telecommute
Cons
The downside is the work life balance.
Advice to Senior Management
Think about the people that work for you.
Pros
My direct mgmt communicates openly and well. Flex hours, teleworking, autonomy.
Retiree healthcare still in place.
Good projects and a chance to "show your stuff" if you are inclined to go there.
Good people with good intentions and potential but limited support due to "old" Andersen mentality.
Cons
Poor 401K match especially with no traditional retirement package. Too long from hire date to eligibility for 401K match...12 to 18 months!!!
Very poor severance plan for Services sector.
Healthcare plan in USA needs some work. Copays are too high. Service from providers not at optimum. Prescription drug plan flawed.
PTO plan encourages people to work sick and come back to work too soon from surgeries. Too few holidays in the USA. Off the norm by 3 days or more.
Need salary increases to keep pace with healthcare premium cost increases at least.
Managers need more input to salary and bonus amounts....all dictated by HR.
Need more experienced hires if company is to progress....too many new grads just don't know how to get the job done.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire more experienced people....company is top heavy with new grads who have never worked a day in their lives. Many experienced hires are frustrated working for and with critical people who have less experience and NO self confidence. Just DO IT!
Match 401Ks immediately or 3 months from hire.
Improve healthcare and reduce costs to employees.
Abolish Service sector severance plan for same plan as Consulting sector.
Increase paid holidays in the USA especially in the Spring from New Year's Day to Memorial Day.
Retain current number of PTO days but add sick leave time for minor illnesses (flu, sick child, etc.) so people don't work sick and infect others.
Increase Flex Spend Account maximums.
Put policies and processes in place with TEETH....there are no consequencies if you don't follow policy and processes!?
