I worked at Accenture part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great, really enjoyed the work they had me doing. Everyone was really open and accepting, which is exactly the type of environment I thrive in.

    Cons

Promotion structure is very rigid, and it is difficult to switch career paths once you are set on a specific trajectory. With that being said, managers are willing to work with you if you know what you want.

I worked at Accenture full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

This career was the longest relationship of my life.
Great foundation in business for new college graduate.
    Good pay, benefits, training.
I learned a lot in the time I was there.

    Cons

Travel can be difficult. Experienced hires can have a tough time integrating.
After a dozen years, I had a tough time steering my career in a direction of my choosing. Also, as I became more senior, I felt my gender (woman) was a hurdle. (Although, to be fair, I think this may be true anywhere.)

Former Employee - Systems Integration Analyst & Services (D) in Denver, CO

I worked at Accenture full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Surrounded by hardworking, dedicated, intelligent employees
    - Gain significant work experience and perspective quickly
    - A great place to gain exposure to industry leading companies quickly
    - Great career support structure including performance review process and mentoring
    - Great benefits and employee acknowledgement

    Cons

    - As a new hire, I found it challenging to find a consulting project in the industry I wanted to work in because it wasn't a big industry in my local community.
    - Working remote and/or working with remote teams, although great, also comes with a separate set of challenges
    - No assigned office space in your local office as a consultant that travels / works remote

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Once employees have dedicated a few years to gaining success in their role, it is important to offer flexibility as they start to narrow down what their interests are - in industry, in specialty, in role. Ensure that HR and career counselors can support the conversation needed to learn about both moving up in their role and transitioning internally at Accenture. Help employees to not feel pigeon holed into the area of work that they started in as a new hire. I didn't struggle with this too much in my experience, but I know a lot of new hires felt they were stuck in the industry or specialty that they started in.

Continue the mentoring setup, I haven't experienced anything like it elsewhere. Annual review process is also extremely thorough and helpful.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of different projects in short spurts (3-6 months, generally). PTO policy is solid and collecting miles and points is always nice. Will encounter lots of smart people throughout your career. Will learn to adapt to different clients and environments quickly. Great place to launch your career.

    Cons

Compensation, promotions, and project selection are generally out of your hands. If you get lucky with a proactive senior manager and rank well on your project, you may get a good rating, you may get a raise, and you may get promoted. There are no guarantees. If you're interested in a certain type of project, you may not get placed on the project. It's based on who's available at the time. There is a large exodus of individuals every year around the same time (aka ratings time).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize talent when it's there & raise project team morale
