Very good, I liked working here, but it always depends on which project or team you get in.

I worked at Accenture full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Good Salary.
    -Good HR policy.
    -Great Onshore opportunity.
-Lots of possibility to learn and progress.

    Cons

-Mostly TL and AM(Who are there for a long time) doesn't know stuff that the are working on, All the want is to allocate work, check status, do excel work.
-Resources who are there in Accenture right from the beginning of there career, are not technically sound.
-Since many TL and AM are not technically good, it decrease the possibility for you to learn, since your lead doesn't know much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Change the promotion policy, make it more merit oriented, and transparent.
-Age old managers, TL and AMs should change themselves, and become more technical.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Brand name, perception, knowledge base, a few good people fighting it out

    Cons

No meritocracy, mediocre people getting to the helm, results are showing the systemic rot, HR non existent

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up, change the rating / moderation system, make 360 degree appraisal mandatory, reward your good people

Accenture has a very youthful, inexperienced culture.

I worked at Accenture full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The best reason to work for Accenture is that it looks good on your resume. Also, if you have a manager that wants to grow you, there is a lot of opportunity for training.

    Cons

Pay is really low at Accenture. Also they expect ALOT of overtime. Don't let them tell you it is optional. If you want to advance you have to put in major overtime. Expect to be micromanaged. They don't give you room to do want you think is right. I really believe they don't like older workers. At Accenture it is "up or out". Move into management as quickly as possible or you will be pushed out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

RESPECT! Give your workers some respect. Just because someone isn't a manager doesn't mean they don't know anything.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great name recognition, training available for many different disciplines, opportunities in many industries. Work environments are usually fun and encouraging. Opportunities are many if you're willing to pursue them and can meet the people needed to do so.

    Cons

Career path can be confusing at times if you're not patient or willing to really grab your career by the horns.

Travel can be rough on people, but it seems like you can get away without travel if you play your cards right (I haven't traveled at all in my first year of employment).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More transparency about career path during hiring process. It is difficult to define because it's a consulting firm, but it seems that the average hire just gets assigned something according to business need and then it's difficult to break from that unless you already have a skill set.

    Pros

    1. Hires right out of college
    2. Learn about work environment
    3. Good place to get better at a skill. IT/Consulting/Management etc.

    Cons

    Career development is slow.
    Compensation is low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would like to see a live recording of the hidden laddering meetings. I don't want to see a mock version of it. If there is nothing to hide then show us a live one. Record one from NY and show it to people in CA, nobody will be hurt by it. We can just blur faces and mask voices. We have the technology and it's not that expensive.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Great multitude of opportunities for work, and professional development
    - A highly capable, hard-working, intelligent work-force
    - Strong, respected company and brand

    Cons

    - Work-life balance is often challenging. Hours can be long (except for workaholics like me).
    - The consulting workforce can be challenging, with a move up, or move out policy
    - Pay could be more competitive

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Job/performance expectations should be very clearly defined, equally, to both the worker, and the managers that rate them for promotions and raises.
No longer should people be rewarded above higher performers, simply because they are "more visible" to managers/supervisors.
-- This is not a personal gripe, but rather, an observation I have made across multiple projects and employees, through many years with the company.

    I worked at Accenture

    Pros

One of the best places to work straight out of college. However, it takes too long to make any "real" money as a Senior Executive. I increased my salary by 400% by switching jobs 2.5 years in with Accenture and think that was the perfect amount of time to "learn the ropes" there.

    Cons

The work-life balance is pretty poor at Accenture. You work nearly Investment Banking hours (not quite thankfully) but make significantly less.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Don't cut corners.
