Pros
Best people, good reputation, very competent senior management.
Cons
Accenture people can easily get higher pay elsewhere.
Advice to Senior Management
Given the reputation Accenture has in the market place, I'm surprised we do not pay our people better; considering how easy it would be for our folks to leave and find better paying jobs elsewhere.
Pros
Accenture has a lot of recreation activities that involves your Family and Friends. The benefits are nice.
Cons
Accenture operates on long period of hours.
Advice to Senior Management
Accenture is a very good place to get a security of tenure.
Pros
Fast growing company. Lots of areas for improvement implying lots of opportunities. Ability to work in multiple business sectors. Recognition for going beyond responsibilities.
Cons
Very long working hours. Sometimes the firm operates in a very pyramid hierarchy structure. HR can be very inflexible and seldom consider the value the employee brings to the firm.
Pros
Good natured people. Work can be mundane at times but will coagulate into something value creating eventually. Refreshing work once every a few months.
Cons
Possibly long hours. Client relationship management is touchy. Leader follower issues and conflicts are common. Travelling can be a pain.
Pros
Total pay is relatively good, although when broken down per actual hour worked it is rather low. Health benefits are good. Employment with Accenture also looks good on the resume.
Cons
Competence levels of those in management are inconsistent. The top-financed projects have strong leadership and good planning, and as a consequence the employees work in a pleasant environment with relatively decent hours. Most other projects tend to fall behind schedule, and employees will have to work long hours with no compensation to ward off disaster. Entry level employees should expect to be assigned to one of the latter projects.
Bonus compensation is almost negligible; thus total compensation is far worse than it appears at first glance.
Turnover is very high.
Advice to Senior Management
Singapore management focuses heavily on selling as many projects as possible, without regard to the decline in quality that is necessitated when the workforce is stretched too thin. Projects should be priced based on more conservative (and consistent) estimates, or else the Singapore branch will eventually squander the benefits of Accenture's global reputation.
Pros
Good benefits. Good employees - easy to work with
Cons
No work-life balance. Long hours - 10 - 10
Advice to Senior Management
listen more to employees. most employee cant say no to travel. anyone can pick on them
Pros
As the company is recognized worldwide, employees from accenture are highly regarded in the industry. Accenture is known to be highly selective of its people, therefore the team members and colleagues you interact with on daily basis is of high caliber.
Cons
Working at accenture almost always involves long working hour and high stress level. Weekend work is hardly norm-defying. These factors contribute to the high employee turnover rate.
Advice to Senior Management
The management will do well to look into more ways to improve work and life balance. There have been some effort put in but more needs to be done.
Pros
Good peer group, smart people, conservative company, fair employee practices, good business model, brilliant people, good knowledge base, good place to grow for a go getter
Cons
Not people friendly, does not look for people's strength and utilize it for self as well as company's growth, Poor people health cover for Singapore employees. Employees in US and Europe have better benefits.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat the people as your valuable assets. Do not treat people as the industrial machinery, especially in Asia. give best health coverage to people, give better salary. Management expects people to perform at a level best in the industry, give them the best salary package in the industry as well in line with expectation
Pros
- Dedicated and friendly young people
- Managers are encouraging and willing to teach
- Great exposure - different roles and industry for projects
- Great corporate culture
Cons
- Crazy working hours
- Promotions sometimes is dependant on the months at level, in which affecting the actual promotion for the people who really put in effort.
- For the amount of hours u put in, around 60 hrs per week - the amount of pay that you are getting is nuts.
Advice to Senior Management
Please place more focus on the people from Accenture Technology Solutions. Consulting folks doesnt mean EVERYTHING. At the end of the day, ATS people can run the show better than the consulting guys. Make the pay for the ATS people more competitive so that they can be on par with the consulting folks. Recognize their effort cuz they are the actual pple who are doing the dirty jobs (even making things happen without consulting folks). Allow more promotion to manager level for ATS. The population is so huge and yet most managers are coming from consulting. Why is this so? Is it because that only consulting pple can lead while ATS people can't? Please give ATS more attention.
Pros
Great place to kick start a career
Opportunity to build invaluable foundational skills, which would very useful in any organisation
Great exposure to network with senior management clients and within Accenture
Great place to make great friends, particularly colleagues at similar levels, as everyone have gone through the same ups and downs
Lots of drinking and social networking opportunities
Good travel opportunities
Good Training opportunities
Cons
Horrendous working hours
Unappreciative bosses
Slave drivers
Steep Learning Curve
Salary works out to be uncompetitive, considering the long hours
Poor work life balance
Projects budget and resources tend to be underestimated, leading to very tight delivery timelines and having to sacrifice work quality
Very target driven, at times sacrificing work quality and employee welfare
Difficult to take time off for training or personal breaks, given project commitments and timelines
Advice to Senior Management
Skip level appraisals are very important to ensure that certain individuals do not get away with treating others unfairly... and cover up by sucking up to key clients and bosses.
Be more appreciative and of employee's dedication and commitment, instead of taking it for granted
