    Pros

In general, the people who work at Accenture are great. They are professional and performance-driven, yet there is a sense of cohesion that is developed over time.

Accenture prides itself on documentation, which is good for getting new members on board very quickly, since the size of the team does vary depending on the project timeline (e.g. more developers come in during the implementation phase). However, it does take meticulousness and effort in documenting progress and open issues as a team. Microsoft Office tools are a daily and basic necessity to get the job done.

    Cons

Accenture's methodology is well-developed and is characterized by meticulousness and planning, and sequential execution according to the timeline. The flip-side is that it may not be employing "agile" methods in software development. That being said, there are many advantages to Accenture's approach as well, depending on the client and the project needs, as it ensures discipline and focus for both the consulting team as well as the client team.

Also, as a CS intern, I was looking for a more technical role. However, due to the project timeline, I was not involved in the development and implementation phase. Also, be mindful that the job doesn't entail "hardcore development" or just "coding" all day, as existing frameworks like SAP are used and customized rather than being developed from scratch, and also because of the nature of consulting.

    Pros

Great network of project ideas for you to harness, grow and learn from the Accenture community. Great company culture to foster strongly knit internal collaboration and communications across the globe. In Accenture, you'll find that the greatest support are the people and their knowledge all encapsulated in a power point deck delivered via projects or client presentations! Somewhere, somehow, you'll find someone in another part of the world doing what you plan to embark on or having done something similar! So that's the resource you should reach out to in order to get some form of support or even to start a discussion regarding your new project. In Accenture, we work as a team!

    Cons

NO WORK LIFE BALANCE - ONLY WORK LIFE INTEGRATION. Grueling long hours due to client demands and the nature/culture of the firm in high performance delivered that can come at the expanse of the staff's health, personal life/space and happiness. It is very common to find burnt out individuals who would eventually leave their jobs within months or less than ONE year. Accenture really needs to work on inculcating work life balance values to their senior leadership that would then be cascaded down to the working levels from senior managers right down to the analyst level. Very lean resourcing to projects (typical make up of a Snr Mgr, Consultant & Analyst) managing enterprise level large scale delivery projects as well as BD work and sometimes / most times - sales pitches. If you're a coder, be prepared, you maybe asked to attend a client pitch session to sell something! Your work scope may not be exactly what you sign up for. However, it is up to the individual to take this on positively in their personal capacity as a form of learning opportunity. But for experienced hires, this can be rather daunting, to be tasked to do something that you've not been skilled in or sign up for. That is when you've to reevaluate the role.

    Pros

Good place to start a career, environment that is helpful to learn to whoever is keen. Working with smart and like-minded people is enjoyable.
Experience in Accenture is great as employers look out for experienced consultants/managers from consulting firms, especially brand name ones like Accenture.

    Cons

Yearly banding cycles are non transparent and largely depend on who you know instead of what you actually do. The promotion and increment is based on who represents you in the banding session and how senior/good the person is representing you.

    Advice to Management

Rethink strategy in annual performance cycles to properly reward and promote deserving candidates. Work distribution across OG could be better, the number of promotees in a OG with many managers/consultants on bench is the same as the top performing OG in the country.
