    Pros

Structured training ensures that you know what is expected of you, and due to the demanding nature of most project, you get to learn many things very quickly, as long as you can keep up with the pace. Good brand name to put onto your resume, especially for subsequent moves either to Business schools or to other firms. Great reputation.

    Cons

Difficult to attain work life balance, at least in your first 2 years. Also, easy to get lost in such a huge firm, unless you are driven enough to plan and manage your own career growth. Professional growth very much dependent on project assigned, followed by personal merits.

    Advice to Management

Need to retain the top talents but offering even better incentives and compensations, to be competitive with the other consulting firms.

    Pros

Accenture is only good for fresh graduates to gain experience through exposure to clients.

    Cons

Managers make false promises on promotions or ratings to employees all the time. There are also unfair performance management practices. Annual ratings are given based on favouritism rather than meritocracy.

It is a really a shame to see talented individuals leaving the companies due to poor management and leadership.

    Advice to Management

Recognise and reward the correct people. Don't keep all the profits to yourselves!

    Pros

Expected to take responsibility. Opportunities to work on different challenges within a project.

    Cons

WORST work life balance. Managers have no respect for personal commitments.
Solutions work force is under paid for the work and time put in. It is the forgotten child, and one has to climb numerous career levels, where as consulting work force skips career levels.

    Advice to Management

Open up channels to express project grievances. Projects badly planned and handled, need clear direction from management to handle both client and employee expectations.

  7. High pressure, ability to get broad based experience and work with a lot of determined people. Good chance to develop.

    Pros

Leadership opportunities, and chance to get faster promotions (however look at cons). In addition, there is great exposure to multiple clients. Good chance to network with people.

    Cons

Work life balance is poor. Control over projects that you are assigned to is not great. Sometimes, training might be denied due to 'project budget' constraints. Tendency for the culture to force people to constantly 'stand out' as compared to 'get things done'.

    Advice to Management

Consider investing in a person from a holistic perspective. Also consider the non-career aspects of a person's work (personal, social/work-life, etc) as employees might have different priorities in life
