Pros
A good place to learn how to deal with IT project.
People around you are very professional, efficient and helpful
Cons
bad work-life balance and some times need to work in rotation(24/7)
not very good salary if split into hours
Advice to Senior Management
the leaders are doing great and good at work itself.
maybe focus more on the employee's welfare and the working environment
Pros
Excellent salary
Very Sophiscated
Excellent IT systems in place
Excellent technology in use
Cons
Doesn't believe in assigning correct work for employee specialization.
Pretty overstaffed - hence many people are on bench.
People on bench are forced to take up roles that don't belong to their competency and continue in those roles for years due to organizational structure.
Very sophisticated look and work mechanisms - but bottom line very poor planning.
Consultants / Staff are very pressurized due to HR and Snr Mgt mistakes of hiring the wrong competencies
No pressure /penalty on HR / Schedulers to place people onto roles quickly.
People are often fired (diplomatically managed out) due to them being on bench for a few months - thus totally spoiling their career. It is very difficult for them to find another job and to explain as to why they got fired.
New Joiners are left pretty clueless of the entire sophistication, if they get a career counsellor who is senior.
Advice to Senior Management
Recruit people responsibly, don't spoil peoples career by first hiring them on good salaries from other employers and then firing them within a few months because you don't have a role fitting their skillset.
Try losing a job after 6 months of joining a company and then finding another one paying you similar salary, to get a feel of it. Its easy to fire (manage out) someone when your own job is secure.
Put a procedure in place that everytime you fire an employee, your own bonus and the HR salary will be compromised to show true leadership. Take ownership of your mistakes.
Keep a open mind, new people bring fresh perspectives, doesn't mean it will always align with yours.
Pros
Good Projects and work experience
Cons
Lot of travelling and Long working hours
Advice to Senior Management
Need to work on Life-work balalnce for employees
Pros
Great place to work. Accenture have a well respected name in Asia and as a result have some very interesting work with key clients. Employees within Accenture are some of the most experienced and professional I have worked with over the years. If you are noticed by Partners you will be empowered and coached through the ranks.
Cons
The only negative I have is the work / life balance. Can be challenging with a family.
Advice to Senior Management
You need to address employees work / life balance.
Pros
Accenture is just OK Consulting Compnay. I do like there operations. I would like to use those all operational process. Hope this help you
Cons
Accenture is not a good with employee. I would not recommend any one to accenture. In future, I am not willing to work with Accenture
Advice to Senior Management
I like all leaders. They are doing well. I would like to join as a leader not as a consultant. I hope
Pros
Best people, good reputation, very competent senior management.
Cons
Accenture people can easily get higher pay elsewhere.
Advice to Senior Management
Given the reputation Accenture has in the market place, I'm surprised we do not pay our people better; considering how easy it would be for our folks to leave and find better paying jobs elsewhere.
Pros
Accenture has a lot of recreation activities that involves your Family and Friends. The benefits are nice.
Cons
Accenture operates on long period of hours.
Advice to Senior Management
Accenture is a very good place to get a security of tenure.
Pros
Fast growing company. Lots of areas for improvement implying lots of opportunities. Ability to work in multiple business sectors. Recognition for going beyond responsibilities.
Cons
Very long working hours. Sometimes the firm operates in a very pyramid hierarchy structure. HR can be very inflexible and seldom consider the value the employee brings to the firm.
Pros
Good natured people. Work can be mundane at times but will coagulate into something value creating eventually. Refreshing work once every a few months.
Cons
Possibly long hours. Client relationship management is touchy. Leader follower issues and conflicts are common. Travelling can be a pain.
Pros
Total pay is relatively good, although when broken down per actual hour worked it is rather low. Health benefits are good. Employment with Accenture also looks good on the resume.
Cons
Competence levels of those in management are inconsistent. The top-financed projects have strong leadership and good planning, and as a consequence the employees work in a pleasant environment with relatively decent hours. Most other projects tend to fall behind schedule, and employees will have to work long hours with no compensation to ward off disaster. Entry level employees should expect to be assigned to one of the latter projects.
Bonus compensation is almost negligible; thus total compensation is far worse than it appears at first glance.
Turnover is very high.
Advice to Senior Management
Singapore management focuses heavily on selling as many projects as possible, without regard to the decline in quality that is necessitated when the workforce is stretched too thin. Projects should be priced based on more conservative (and consistent) estimates, or else the Singapore branch will eventually squander the benefits of Accenture's global reputation.
