I worked at Accept Software full-time
Pros – The company had a great baseline product offering that should have penetrated the right market segment at the right time. The intermediate growth opportunity looked good in 2011 when the company tried to reinvigorate itself with additional private funding, new management, a new product offering and expanded Marketing and Sales.
Cons – The baseline product, although feature rich, was outdated in some technology aspects - inhibiting stellar enterprise performance characteristics. Funding was not adequate to achieve both needed enhancements in existing offerings while expanding into new offerings for new customers.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Accept Software full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – There are none today. There is essentially no Accept anymore. When the company was active, the Accept360 product line was really quite a good and useful and powerful product. I was proud to work with it, and our customers were getting a lot of value from it. In my current position I'm sorry I don't have a tool like Accept360 to help me out!
Cons – Unfortunately, there was very little investment in Accept360 for several years, during which time UI standards and competitors all passed us by. The company was instead investing in two initiatives which both failed to pan out, leaving us with a core product that was too long in the tooth to compete. Accept was ultimately purchased at the end by Versata for a very small amount, and Accept360, the major core product, is now part of the Artemis family of products. None of the original Accept employees are still with the company, aside from one part-timer that I know of.

I have been working at Accept Software
Pros – Good work life balance, new CEO seems to have a clue
Cons – it's toxic. People don't care, there's no vibe, and everyone is generally disgruntled. There are some toxic people in sales that need to go, and until they do, this company will continue to be crippled.
Advice to Senior Management – get rid of the bad apples and start fresh. You know what needs to be done. The vision is unclear.

I worked at Accept Software full-time for less than a year
Pros – The revamped direction was getting the company back on track. There was a new vibe and momentum getting the company noticed by new customers and the customer base. New Marketing people, message was awesome, new sales people who knew how to sell and great support from sales management.
Cons – CEO's ego and posturing with the BOD kept the company from succeeding. The CEO's lack luster performance didn't add any value to the new revitalization of customer interest, employee morale and sales management support. I've experience in the past when a SJC company hits a rough spot, the CEO leads by example. In this case, the CEO kept securing his own salary while laying off key people needed to make this successful.
Advice to Senior Management – Advice to BODs, never bring someone out of retirement and expect the same entrepreneur spirit to be successful. Chances are they'll continue to work on their golf game and rarely direct a company and provide real leadership.

I worked at Accept Software full-time
Pros – Great product, great customers, flexible work hours. Great marketing team enhanced the sales pipeline. Management very hands off.
Cons – CEO was nowhere to be found. Came in highly touted, over committed and under delivered. Should have read his own book. Need a 10th unusually excellent characteristic of "BE PRESENT TO WIN"
Advice to Senior Management – Customer base is strong, pipeline is strong, however CEO was checked out and felt it more important to package the company to sell. New management will now focus on customer base, focus on customer loyalty, happy to have new direction.

I have been working at Accept Software
Pros – Lots of great ideas, innovative solution to the problem of bringing products to market. Strong management team in terms of experience and ability to sell both to VCs and large accounts.
Cons – Inability to stick with one strategy that is matched to core competencies. Ability to execute is poor than it should be.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on core competencies, products that meet expressed needs and making that product to sales engine as efficient as possible.
