Pros – Love the people. We are like family, especially when the company was still small

Cons – There are office politics just like any other company.
HR dept is a weak link.

Advice to Senior Management – Hire some professional HR personnel.

Pros – J&J benefits for regular employees, fun events/parties, innovative products for a growing niche market in medical devices, good quartely reviews.

Cons – There seemed to be a bit of a culture clash that occured post acquisition.
Several employees seemed unhappy with direction of company

Advice to Senior Management – Recognize and do more to motivate your team. Get rid of the incompetant managers as they are only keeping people below them from moving up.

Pros – - You're paid for the work you put in, the more you put in the higher the rewards ... unfortunately at end of year

Cons – Innovation is appreciated when you show the numbers at the end of the quarter, but if you're trying to make something happen at the corporate level you're screwing yourself out of the job. This is a follow the system environment.
- beware of the "step up" sales position
- 99% of the company will talk about "the number" 99% of the time
- If you're driven by money as a satisfaction factor you will do VERY WELL.

Advice to Senior Management – For an innovative company and innovative products, this company fails in the fact that it just transfers all the U.S. Surgical people over to it. Same process, different company ... cycle repeats.

Pros – Innovative products creating new treatments for patients.
Work-hard/play-hard culture is great if you like to be productive and get stuff done
Used to have beer fridays- at least before the J&J acquisition.

Cons – Skimpy on the options
Pay targeted at 25% for no apparent reason
No 401k matching - at least this was the case prior to the J&J acquisition.

Advice to Senior Management – The biggest complaints were the stinginess with the options. The CEO and Founder, however, both cleaned house with the J&J acquision. They could have made the option structure more equitable for the employees. On top of this, they targeted pay at the 25th percentile. Cheapo.
