Pros

Accretive is a very good place to work. The entrepreneurial environment is one that is not available at other firms. The ability to be creative for clients is key to the success.

Cons

The benefits package is on the light side, especially considering the lack of a 401k match program. Communication from upper management has not been great, but is improving.

Advice to Senior Management

Start offering a 401k match program for employees who have completed at least a year of employment with the firm.

Pros

Accretive was a much stronger, better run firm 2-3 years ago. Still has a couple of well run local markets but these fund the rest of the operations.

Cons

They have turned over CEO 3 times in 2 years. New CEO is a first time CEO/vintner/bullet book author. Lack of investment and lack of strong leadership makes this firm just another vendor pushing resumes. Yes it's a staffing firm.

Advice to Senior Management

Not sure that they would listen to any advice from anyone, they all need to grab a bucket and start bailing.

Pros

Scheduler is reliable. Fair in pay and paycheck is on-time, not always the case working as contractor/consultant.

Cons

Very poor communications btw. Acting Mgr. and Field Consultant. You are on your own in battling through war zones in some very difficult work environment.

Advice to Senior Management

In-house recruiters need to find out more about the job description, mgm structure, working environment before sending candidates out for interviews. Very important to ensure interview success!

Pros

Accretive Solutions is a great place to work. Great people and great leadership. I would recommend it to anyone.

Cons

I would like to have more exposure to the leadership on a regular basis. I would like to understand the corporate organization structure as well.

Advice to Senior Management

I would like an opportunity to understand Accretive Solutions service offers in more detail. Do these offerings change? What is the communication when we add/change/delete our offerings?

Pros

AS is a great company to work for. Life - work balance, benefits, and the people are all great to work with.

Cons

The only downside that I can think of is that I have to reply to emails all the time. After work and on weekends, but that is really expected of me in the field I am in.

Advice to Senior Management

The only advice I could offer to the leadership team would be maybe match 401K. That would be an excellent addition.

Pros

I recommend working at Accretive Solutions because the company has always supported the work-life balance that I value. They’ve has always met my need for variety. My clients have varied in size, industry & complexity – often at the same time! I also appreciate the combined experience that the consultant base offers, and the willingness that fellow consultants have shown to share their knowledge.

Cons

The consulting and executive search business, along with the rest of the business world has obviously experienced some tough economics over the last couple of years, so our business has become much more competitive with everyone working harder with fewer resources, however life at Accretive is no different to most of our competitors who are experiencing exactly the same issues.

Advice to Senior Management

We are looking forward to an exciting period of regrowth for Accretive Solutions with our new CEO and board members.

Pros

I'm lucky to work with such an intelligent, friendly group of people. Our recruiting team works well together and we're more collaborative than competitive. Our hours are somewhat flexible and there's no micro-management here. Everyone is expected to be a mature adult and handle their jobs.

Would like to have a better 401K match.

Keep maintaining the quality of service and professionalism that we're known for.

Good for short-term accounting or IT projects.

Limited National reach - presence in only select few cities

Continue treating the employees the way you do.
Work with your clients to keep their business in this tough economy and not be so rigid on rates and margins.

Pros

Accretive has good tools on line to help with contract assignments.

VP's are hands on and available to employees.

Cons

Pricing is not competitive in todays environment because of the mark up that is required to cover overhead.
