    Pros

Company continues to grow and the people that work here are great! The health benefits are excellent and there are many opportunities for advancement for people who work hard.

    Cons

With all the growth we need to get a larger facility to handle all the employees with the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to listen to the people that work for you and evolve as we grow as a company.

    I worked at AccuWeather.COM full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It's a 50+ year old family-owned company and the founder (along with other members of the family who are top executives) still run it with values of high integrity, constant focus on quality and a progressive attitude despite fierce competition in the weather industry.
There's a family-like culture with easily approachable people and great amount of trust between co-workers

    Cons

Nothing in particular about the company, but State College, PA might not be the place for you unless you are from the area or you want to have an not-so-eventful family life

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Adopting a bit of "move fast and break things" attitude would help the company when it comes to the tech side of the business

    I worked at AccuWeather.COM full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great sense of value and worth with the services provided to all AES clients, based from the Wichita office. The game is all about risk management and getting maximum return on investment for companies concerned about human and resource protection. Accuweather delivers in spades with their SkyGuard service. A highly dedicated team of meteorologists, IT and sales provide top-notch service. Bottom line: Accuweather deeply cares about their clients, and the clients return the favor by renewing services at a very high rate. Finally ... cutting edge technologies are used to deliver services. Outstanding!

    Cons

Disappointing long-term salary for the meteorologists. While entry level pay is competitive inside the private weather sector, and the health benefits are excellent, a five or ten year career won't grow your income very much, despite increased responsibilities, experience and skills. There is some lateral potential for growth, but opportunities are not many. Note: salary was not my personal concern, but it is for many others.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest more readily in your employees by ensuring greater salary growth commensurate with outstanding evaluations, experience and responsibilities. Continue the great culture of customer support ... its working!!

    Pros

Flexible schedule, decent benefits, great people

    Cons

"Put out the fire" work priority. Everything is due now. No consistent vision/plan for the future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

the only way you are going to keep up with or out do your competition, is to invest in "out ot the box" resources and stop usings old "home-grown" programming that is out of date.

Really good people work here! Most of them are pleasant and are always willing to help. Good benefits.

    Cons

Some departments are not appreciated enough. They work hard for little recognition. There are limited growth opportunities. Sometimes things are mismanaged.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at who is the heart and soul of your company and realize their hard work. In the long run, you will have better employees who will stay with the company for years to come.
