I have been working at AccuWeather.COM part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good moral, decent starting pay, state of the art equipment. The network launched earlier this year so there is currently construction as they are building a new TV studio.

    Cons

Open 24/7. Nights, holidays, and weekends.

    Pros

AccuWeather has provided the best of both worlds in a workplace: 1. I thoroughly enjoy the work I do and the emphasis on continued learning. I greatly appreciate the encouragement from my superiors and team to do, and learn, more. This keeps my day-to-day work new and exciting. 2. I can honestly say I've never worked with a better group of people in the company as a whole, or a more solid department team. This makes showing up for my work day so much more enjoyable. Who says work can't be fun? On top of that, having a flexible work schedule adds to a much more balanced quality of life and helps me to be more productive and successful in both my personal and professional life.

    Cons

Due to the rapid growth of the company, we are running out of space in the building. Having additional work space/building/etc would be very helpful.

I have been working at AccuWeather.COM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

AccuWeather is an extremely exciting company to work for. Not only do we get to see firsthand how much our meteorologists love the weather, we get to be a part of something that affects the lives of millions across the globe. The work/life balance is unbeatable and there are so many friendly, talented people. The company is rapidly growing and making a difference in the weather community.

    Cons

Because of AccuWeather's rapid growth and expansion, parking has become a hassle and seating within the building is limited - we are often separated from those who are in our own department.

    I have been working at AccuWeather.COM full-time

    Pros

AccuWeather is led by its original founder(s) and there is a very strong sense of mission and purpose. We have a product that is valued by millions of people around the world and has the potential to powerfully impact their lives. The company is growing, which means there is opportunity to grow professionally and to tackle exciting challenges. Most importantly, great people work here! It's a constructive and team-focused environment.

    Cons

Growing pains and cultural change can lead to challenging moments, but I have been impressed with the ability of leadership to adapt. With such a huge opportunity set at times focus can be a challenge, but this is a good problem to have and to work through.

    Pros

Company continues to grow and the people that work here are great! The health benefits are excellent and there are many opportunities for advancement for people who work hard.

    Cons

With all the growth we need to get a larger facility to handle all the employees with the company.

    Advice to Management

Continue to listen to the people that work for you and evolve as we grow as a company.

The people were very nice, however, the salary for an entry-level meteorologist was quite low.

    Pros

The people are great. I made some friends during my time there that I still stay in contact with. Fairly relaxed working environment.

    Cons

The meteorology operation is 24/7/365. This means that you may get stuck working the overnight shift. This also means that meteorologists have to be in during all holidays. Also they don't pay their meteorologists a whole lot.

    Advice to Management

Consider increasing the pay for starting meteorologists a little bit. Maybe there wouldn't be quite the turnover that there is.
