Pros
Easy going, laid back, nice people, free pizza and cake, great location. Approchable leadership, open door policy. Not super fancy
Cons
Building dirty, lots of collections staff, no covered parking, tenure= safety, complaints about building main., slow to increase pay, etc
Advice to Senior Management
Smokers around doors, building dirty, lots of collections staff, no covered parking, slow to increase pay, etc = fix this
Pros
1. Open door to management for complaints and questions
2. Fantastic Reward System
3. Pretty Good Training
Cons
1. Every region is different which makes it hard to communicate on a horizontal level
2. Sometimes seemed as though the company did not take time out to understand all that we as Sales Associates and Center Managers were required to do before increasing work load or "solving" problems.
3. Infrastructure does NOT flow appropriately; the hard work tends to pile up at the bottom while upper level management cannot be contacted majority of the time.
Advice to Senior Management
Spend a day at the centers! Listen to some of the complaints and come and work as though you were a sales associate or (better yet) a Store Manager. All of those "quotes" are not as easy to say when you're trying to take care of bill pay, loan apps, and check cashing while faxing correct forms and trying to get in contact with another associate across your region whom is probably doing the exact same thing ALL AT ONCE! And not to mention doing this while only having one or two people in a booth at a time. THink it through!
Pros
The pay wasn't bad compared to most of the jobs you get without a college education. They also had bonus incentives for selling their products. I made I made out ok because I worked my butt off.
Cons
You work behind a thick glass wall and you are not permitted to leave until your shift is over. They allow people to smoke in there so you go home smelling like a nightclub. I have even had some customers complain the the lobby smells like a nightclub. They worked our schedule out to where we had one day off one week and two the next. 50 + hours a week in a prison cell. You have to lock your register with a key so other employees don't steal the money in your till. There is also an alarm system that includes a garage opener type of box that triggers the alarm. They aren't seperate for all the stores so if someone at another store in the vecinity feels like it they can drive by your store and set your alarm off. This happened to me a lot. Everytime you recieved a false alarm they charged you $50. There is also very high turnover.
Advice to Senior Management
No advice. Upper management doesn't have to care about the employees that are making it happen when the company is making money off of poor idiots.
Pros
Benefits and Compensation. The company offers 401K program that kicks in after one year of service, they match 20% of your contributions. The bonus plan varies every year, but generally you can make up to 60% of your base salary
Cons
Working 60+ hours per week. Very destructive competitive corporate culture mentality, East and West divisions do not share any information that could help the entire company achieve its goals. A myriad of financial products to work with and not enough training. The way district managers operate their centers varies greatly among the company. Company does not believe in the use and implementation of security cameras, the company handles millions of dollars a day and they refuse to install video cameras in each retail location.
Advice to Senior Management
Change your district and center operations model, this current model confers a great amount of stress on district managers.
Pros
none at present used to be better. It is sad that they have lost there way!
Cons
work life balance, unprofessional upper management, "we'll fire you " is company mantra, poor development for lower employees, promotion by termination whether ready or not, soliciting calls for legal lobbying is unprofessional. Horrible turnover never seen 95% turnover rate before in my life you should be ashamed, lack of focus on development of management for the next step. lack of leaders that know how to influence people and find ways to hep them succeed.
Advice to Senior Management
communicate in professional productive ways, find ways to create success rather than terminate and try again. choose people based on character and promote on success not out of necessity.
