I have been working at Acer (Taiwan HQ) full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Acer is a tough environment to work in, especially if you're remote. That said, if you can align yourself properly its possible to make change pretty quickly.

    Cons

Historically Acer was a very top down management style; that's starting to change under the new leadership where management is more open to ideas but it really depends upon the dept you work in. Also, being remote is tough as lots of decisions are made in real time in Taipei.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on retaining those employees who will be your long-term assets. It's been a challenge to hire in new staff due to Acer's recent performance; those who stay are loyal but that needs to be both ways to ensure commitment.

    Pros

Work-life balance and good welfare. If you don't mind the slow promotion, it's a place to develop your working knowledge.

    Cons

It's hard to be promoted, even your working raputation is quite outstanding. The executive leading managing level is not capable of creation, or planning the future trendy product lines.

I have been working at Acer (Taiwan HQ) full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Nice corporate culture with many fringe benefits. Although it is a bit routine, it is a good place to learn job and balance your work and life. There are many trainings, but a few of them might be related to the job. Coworkers are also nice.

    Cons

Lacks appreciation. Pay is a bit low with very little growth each year. Too less annual leave; less than 7 days for the first year, and 7 days annually thereafter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need blue ocean strategies & more innovations to survive the stiff competition and listen more.
