Pros – Really smart real estate guys, deal machines in an up market. When things are going well, you will make a large amount of money relative to the number of hours you work. You will meet lots of important and powerful real estate people, including developers, investors, brokers, etc.
Cons – Real estate crash tends to put a damper on things. There is no such thing as job security in this market-- when the financing vanishes there isn't too much to do.
Advice to Senior Management – Wait 5 years for a good real estate market again, slim down in the meantime.
