Pros
Stability of company and benefits
Cons
Lack of care for employees
Advice to Senior Management
Live your words as if they have meaning
Pros
Good location. Good management and friendly people
Cons
Not many opportunities for advancement
Advice to Senior Management
Offer training and more evaluation
Pros
Very Flexible and Willingness to help in a time of personal development and growth. Very laid back enviroment that does not micro manage. Teamwork is demonstrated on a daily basis. MAnagers are willing to help and assist when necessary if you ask them for help in an area. Your opinion and voice is recognize and valued.
Cons
Not enough correct training for RCM'S in an ever changing enviroment. Can get thrown into the wilderness so to speak quickly, especially when New Clients are contracted. Tend to want to keep ppeople Parttime for a while before allowing you to get promoted. I was parttime 16months after being hired as a parttime employee. Tend to do 90% of communication by handheld and through email. You need to be technological savvy in many aspects to flow in the right direction
Advice to Senior Management
Have a Plan, Work the Plan, anc communicate the plan consistently and get trained throughly before taking on new responsibilities because of a ever changing enviroment at times!
Pros
The culture of the company and people are wonderful. It is a fun place to work. Very flexible in work policies depending on job.
Cons
The management talks about people being their greatest asset. Yet, they wont share the success of the company with the employee. 18000+ employees, yet only 300+ (and an equity company) with an ownership stake. There is no defined path to get to the ownership level and when you ask they won't give you an answer. It appears as a good ole boy network to become an owner. No clear career pathing or succession planning. Retirement program is woefully inadequate.
Advice to Senior Management
Act like a big a company and implement career and succession planning. Define what it takes to get to the ownership level and don't be afraid to let people into the "inner circle". It will serve you well to be transparent and have the employees have something clearly outlined to strive for.
Pros
Many nice people
Strong client portfolio
Lots of growth potential
Flexibility while being an LDP
Cons
Lack of organization
Hardly any orientation to make transition into the office a smooth one
Seems stressful beyond the LDP years
Inefficient from what I've seen
Lot's of 'old school sales personalities' around
Few defined responsibilities
Advice to Senior Management
Everyone is too busy to focus on the LDPs and hence the most isn't being made of these 2 years in the program. Someone should be charged with the task of their development in lieu of some other 'work assignments.'
Pros
Fair Compensation. Very professional. Down to earth Management. Great Work/Family Balance. Excellent sense of teamwork. Communication flow is superb. Very organized.
Cons
Many nuances of Acosta's Client Portfolio to keep in mind.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep Up the Great Work.
Pros
None...except nice people who are unfortunately treated like trash...it is very sad....
Cons
You name it..pay is awful, benefits are awful, middle management is BEYOND awful, culture of fear...everybody throws everybody under the bus to protect themselves...I would rather work in North Korea...some said it was like working in a Third World Country...amen to that
Advice to Senior Management
CARE ABOUT YOUR PEOPLE!!! RESPECT AND SUPPORT THEM !!! AND NOT JUST THE "OLD BOY NETWORK" OR THE LDPS...ALL OF THEM....
Pros
Large client portfolio gives you access to varying business models and strategies, and if you're willing to tough it out, it's a great place to learn the CPG industry through the many client experiences.
Cons
There is very little opportunity for professional development or advancement unless in Toronto or Jacksonville. Lower salary because it's a broker and not a manufacturer.
Advice to Senior Management
Better accountability is needed across middle-management. Employees should be given the opportunity to provide feedback and ideas and there should be more respect across all departments. We all contribute to the success of the company--not just the sales team.
Pros
The Hours are very flexible and the part-time workers choose between three or four day work weeks. The job is very independent with very little management supervision. I saw my manager twice in a nine month period. The job is pretty easy work and can be completed quickly.
Cons
The downside of working at Acosta would be some of the managers at the Meijer's store in which you work can be very unhelpful. To do your job you need management cooperation from Meijer's. They dont like you taking time off because it creates coverage problems.
Advice to Senior Management
The Communication could be better it is allright but could be quicker. I believe that the schedule should be a little more flexible seeing it is only 20 hours a week.
Pros
A great place for mid-level professionals to expand their knowledge of the CPG industry. Professionally I was able to really take my skills to another level. Great manager as well as coworkers. Also a great place to jump start your career since every manufacturer is well aware of the magnitude of Acosta in the CPG industry. Great benefits and excellent vacation incentives. Management really concerned to give employees a work-life balance to all corporate employees. Coworkers do really care about their positions and show a great deal of concern overall.
Cons
Not too many talented people working here however it is a great place to catapult yourself to other posistions within or outside of the Consumer Packaged Goods industry. Do not stay here too long because salaries are okay, even though cash bonuses are provided, but do not keep up with other companies of the same/greater scope. Not too many posistions to move upward within the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Acosta Insights not a great place to work.
