I worked at Acrodex full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I give Acrodex credit for giving me a chance when nobody else would. They hired me shortly after I completed university. My university training was completely unrelated to information technology.

Despite having no qualifications for my job, they trained me from the ground up.

    Cons

Working for Acrodex was living paycheque to paycheque. After benefits, deductions and taxes I was always hardly getting by. It was just not enough to live off of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Having to threaten to quit in order to be given a salary increase is not healthy for management or for staff.

I worked at Acrodex full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Internal staff are all solid people working hard to succeed. You can make a lot of great connections.

    Cons

Upper management are all to busy screwing each other over to care or mentor the staff that actually make a difference. What company promotes their Directors to CO positions for no logical reason? All they did was create in-fighting and everyone scrambling for power. You have an arrogant CEO that believes he has his hand on the pulse of the industry but hasn't a clue how to run a successful business. "If you don't learn from history you are doomed to repeat it" It's only a matter of time before they have to change the company name again...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of your own way. Learn that your people are there for you and only want to succeed. If you allow us the opportunity to do our jobs and you stop playing favorites you might actually be more successful. Instead of inserting the inept but wordy people to run departments they have no idea how to run.

I have been working at Acrodex full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Stability, company invests a little into employees who stick around for a year or more. Good starting place for young people fresh out of school.

    Cons

Wages are well below competitive standards. Employees feel completely separated from management, who willingly give false information to employees. Maximum raise year-over-year in some cases is 3%, for top performers. In most cases, 2% for non-management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop segregating yourselves from the rest of the employees, and tell the truth. Pay competitive wages and invest more in your staff. Attrition should be much less than 30%, and in my estimate, it is much higher. Too many new faces over the years.

    I worked at Acrodex

    Pros

    Good work environment
    Great co-workers
Great starting point for a new graduate
Paid training - When they are able to find training for you during their timeline
    Company Values

    Cons

Empty promises are a major concern.
They encourage you to move up; but when you talk to your manager about it, they start taking things away.
Salaries are well below avg and cost of living increases do no exist.
Unrealistic work and expectations on managed service employees
    Benefits aren't the greatest

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start paying employees what they are worth and offer more incentives to keep the better employees. Don't make false hopes and empty promises to employees looking to make this company work for them, but rather tell them the truth about the possibility of them moving up within the company.

I worked at Acrodex full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Great co-workers
Contract with all major employers in the region
Nobody stays late, get to go home at the end of the day

    Cons

Revolving door so your new friends won't stick around for too long
Run into any ex employee, don't tell them you work there or you might get spit on
Ex employees hate this company with a passion
    Management does not care
Was lied to on several occasions and could prove it easily
Bait and switch on most job offers... you apply to work in Edmonton, and they want you to go work in Ft. McMoney for the same wages (that is impossible and anyone that falls for this usually quits or threatens to quit and then are transferred to Edmonton)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop acting like royalty, maybe say hi to one of your employees when you are alone in the lunch room with them instead of pretending we aren't there. You act high class but you sure aren't.
