I worked at Actavis full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great products in growing areas. Good promotion opportunities. Good managed care department. Sales training is very good. 8% match.

    Cons

Clashing cultures Between the Forest reps and Actavis after 2014 buy-out. Lack of trust in management and new CEO. Fears of another buyout by a bigger fish. Employees are not happy and are jumping ship in droves. Beginning pay and benefits are on the low end and little to no room for negotiation of salary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to put real value in front line sales people and not turn them over so fast. I had 15 territory partners in 4 years as a specialty rep. Many of them were excellent reps. Forest Management style is borderline militaristic. If reps don't hit goal you better find another job because the manager will score you low and then here comes the progressive discipline! The call panels could not be a bigger mess! Too many people calling on the same office for the same drug shuts everyone out. Forest / Actavis need to understand it is not three reps calling on an office with the same medicine that sells... One really good rep is more effective!

I have been working at Actavis full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

financially stable in hyper growth mode. Assuming they learn from their Integration mistakes, the company could emerge as a new model for pharma.

    Cons

complete chaos, poorly handled integrations, w/ abject disregard for people. Decision appear to have been made by consultants w/ limited understanding of operational requirements needed to actively and efficiently promote so many products.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

practice the values you preach before your left w/ no one to do the grunt work. The job market is getting better everyday.

    Pros

When promotions took place the increases rocked.

    Cons

Change and more change. The new Forest Leadership only cares about the shareholders. They are not running a company, they are just getting ready for the next M&A.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have great people working for you. Reward them for their hard work.

I have been working at Actavis full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Company has a decent compensation and benefits package. Really bright, really great coworkers to work next to. The comeraderie here is wonderful.

    Cons

Whatever culture this company has, is not going to survive the Forest leadership that has taken over. This is the "New Forest".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Insisting on ridiculous activity goals is demotivating, demoralizing and does not produce sales goals. Get a grip.

I worked at Actavis full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Actavis is a strong, growing company with good benefits. It has lots of opportunity to move around if a position should open up.

    Cons

Due to recent company mergers and acquisitions, job security does not exist. The company is constantly looking for "synergies". Long work hours and layoffs are the norm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Manage by example rather than intimidation.
