Pros
Flexibility in taking time off for personal business. Friendly atmosphere. Good pay.
Cons
Overall, it is a good old boy company. Most of those in management are not qualified to be there. Review system is terrible in that you have someone reviewing you that doesn't even know your work ethics. If there is a personal bias against you, you will soon find yourself in the unemployment line. Most former associates who were let go with a "rehire status" are not hired back regardless of how many open positions they apply for. Their applications are never even considered.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your associates with the same respect you desire. There are some good people in leadership positions, but some end up going along with the bad in order to keep their jobs.
Pros
They are very flexible and have a pretty laid back atmosphere. They seem to care that you might have a family and personal life to take care of. Most people are friendly, and there's always somebody to find to help out if you need a resource.
Cons
I have not found many cons yet as an intern. The only thing I can think of is I have heard that full time employee pay is not as great as some other places.
Advice to Senior Management
Whether you are already doing it or not, just make sure and regularly sit down to listen to your employees' concerns/feedback. Try to stay in tune with how they are feeling about the company and their role.
Pros
Flexible hours and ability to work from home.
If you work hard and know what you are doing, people will notice.
People are great. Many managers are also good leaders and care about their employees.
Cons
A lot of talent has left and we are finding it really hard to replace it.
Upper management does not always have it's act together.
Slow to move and get things going. This really hurts innovation.
Pros
reasonable pay and benefits only
Cons
totally unprofessional, puppets with titles and no skills
Pros
If you have kids, you can take off work all the time.
Cons
They have the worse benefits package. They dont pay overtime. Working at home is a need based option, not just because.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop showing favoritism! Dont wait until review time to tell a person how they have been doing for the entire year.
Pros
Easy accommodation for work from home and other convenience factors
Cons
No personal or professional growth
Advice to Senior Management
Get your act right - employees depend on you to make right decisions and you have done poorly so far.
Pros
Worked as an intern senior year of college. Got experience (and better pay than a random part-time job) that helped a lot later on.
Cons
Low pay, compared to other companies in the area.
Pros
Flexible work hours, great benefits
Cons
Lack of direction, lack of leadership
Advice to Senior Management
Need to find a new leader.
Pros
- Laid back and casual work environment.
- Good developers to learn from and engage conversations with.
- Great work life balance.
- Decent benefits package. They offer a lot of paid vacation days along with 9 holidays.
Cons
- Lack of vision from senior leadership.
- Lack of job security.
- Product management lacks direction a lot of times.
- Not enough R&D to stay competitive.
Advice to Senior Management
There are great people working at Acxiom. However, they need to have a clear and concise direction the company is heading and the future it holds.
Pros
Experience working in multiple IT environments
Cons
Lack of overall direction and vision
Advice to Senior Management
Drive the business through innovation, not through getting down on bended knee
