I worked at Acxiom full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good place to start an IT career. Provides a good understanding of data management and technology. Pretty good benefits and work environment. People you work with is the greatest pro of the company.

    Cons

Salary is below median. It may be thought that since it is HQ'd out of AR it should have lower than national average salaries.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look to the talent that is already in the company. There are many solid performers that can contribute to the transformation of the company for its next iteration.

I have been working at Acxiom

    Pros

Very Flexible in terms of work schedule, Good Health Benefits. always something to do. If you don't like to be stuck on the same project for years there is opportunity to move from project to project and keep variety.

    Cons

landscape is always changing. re-orgs make sense at times; however, there is a lack of communication on how the new org should work. About the time people finally figure it out it is changed again.

I have been working at Acxiom full-time

    Pros

Used to be a great company in the 90's and early 2000's. The VP's and all Upper Mgmt. used to care about Assoc. Sat and providing quality service to the Clients.

    Cons

They only care about stockholders and bonuses. The employees are overworked, underpaid and have an extreme lack of resources. Emp. are extremely stressed and have no security in their jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please, Please look at what's really going on. Stop worrying about the stockholders and start caring about your employees again. If you do they will be so much more productive.

I worked at Acxiom full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Very flexible. Decent salary for Arkansas.

    Cons

Worked there for 21 1/2 years, every year I had an excellent review. Was told on Feb 27 that my last day of work was Feb 28. They are NOT loyal to their employees at all!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more sensitive to your employees and be as loyal to them as they are to the company.

I worked at Acxiom full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great education and experience building job. People are fun to work with and generally very skilled and upbeat when not in layoff times. Core benefits are competitive for area. Flexible schedules with good vacation plan.

    Cons

Low pay. Impossibly slow advancement system. Lay offs are capricious and constant. No bonuses unless in sales or extreme upper management. Stock plan requires too long to vest. Very politically driven environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cherish skilled employees and pay them a competitive salary. Advance them financially and hierarchically. Assuming people who made it through decades of layoffs are the best employees is not always true. They sometimes just kept their head down. The IT field is very competitive for talent. Hoping you can get regionally stuck employees will not advance your company.
